For lots of plants on a tight budget, get yourself some herbs from the supermarket. Basil and coriander plants can be split out into dozens of individuals to pot on. Cut rosemary and thyme roots easily into water. Then check out the spice rack for bottles of dried seeds to sow 🤑
@beardygardener Not to worry, as you’re using it over spring and summer they probably won’t return. You can get rodent repelling sprays but not sure if they work. Just keep any bird food in sturdy air tight tubs next winter! 🙂
@beardygardener Well, they don’t like disturbance so that should encourage them to move on, plus it’s a good opportunity to clean your stuff - you don’t want it festering, any ratty smells could attract them back. Also - don’t store bird food in there! Good luck 🙂
Just heard that David Austin’s Munstead Wood has been discontinued 😟 - so if you see it available anywhere that might be your last chance to get your hands on it.. what a pity, it’s stunning! #roses#roselove#rosewednesday
I’m recovering from CTR surgery for the next few weeks. Feeling useless without my dominant hand..trying not to think about all the jobs stacking up in the garden 😳
The first test of leadership is to turn up. The new PM's decision not to attend COP27 makes a mockery of any Government claims on continued climate leadership - and what a shameful way to end the UK's COP Presidency https://t.co/zUUD7HnNWz
@heygardener I’m sure they have their uses - if they save the need to industrially farm bees then that’s probably overall a positive thing. It’s the first time I’ve seen them though and the concept paints a Blade-Runner style dystopia 😕 #SaveTheBees
