Only God knows how much I love this comment.
I promised not to post anything about marriage on the space again, so this will be my last.
One advice I’ve always gave ladies and even my junior one's "is to get pregnant before they get married"…
What a lot of people carry on their heads before getting married is the tradition of, “Let’s get married first before we get pregnant.”
Now before you pick up a stone to stone me, Let me explain the kind of pregnancy I’m talking about.
I’m not talking about physical pregnancy.
I’m talking about the kind of pregnancy that births your becoming.
I’m talking about getting pregnant with purpose.
Getting pregnant with vision.
Pregnant with a business idea.
Pregnant with a skill that can change your life.
Why do we wait for marriage before we start discovering who we are?
Why do we believe life begins after a ring?
Why don’t we get pregnant with destiny before we walk down the aisle?
While you are still single is the best time to conceive.
Yes, because you’re single.
You’re free.
That's the time when you have fewer distractions and more time to understand yourself.
That is the best time to get pregnant with value.
So that when marriage comes, it meets you carrying something...
Something beautiful.
Something powerful.
Something the world is waiting to see.
Don’t wait to become a wife before you become a woman of purpose.
Don’t wait for approval before you start building your life.
Get pregnant with a dream, with knowledge, with a skill, with passion.
Pregnancy with purpose won’t break you, it will build you.
And when you finally say “I do,”
You’ll walk into that union not just as a bride…
But as a woman already full of value, vision and destiny.
So again I say,
Get pregnant before marriage.
Your future self will thank you for it.
And if as a MAN, you think this message is referring to just ladies, it is a sign that you are yet to be serious with life.
God bless you ma, I couldn't help but follow you.
Because the first time you do it, you feel it in your body. You walk toward the venue and your hands feel slightly empty. You keep checking your phone even though nobody’s coming. You stand in line and suddenly you’re hyper aware of where to put your eyes. You’re scanning faces like you’re looking for someone to rescue you from looking like a person with no friends.
The brain does this stupid thing where it equates being alone with being unwanted.
Even when you chose it.
Even when you have people.
Even when the truth is just: your schedules don’t match, nobody answered in time, you don’t want to beg someone to live your life with you.
Still, the body feels it as exposure.
That’s why so many people would rather stay home.
They don’t want to miss the movie. They want to avoid the feeling of being visibly alone in public. They want to avoid that tiny sting when you sit down and there’s an empty seat next to you and you can feel other people’s laughter and you wonder if you look sad.
It’s pride. It’s fear. It’s that childhood wiring that says the herd equals safety.
Then you stay home and you scroll a feed of other people living.
You see couples at concerts. Friends clinking glasses. Someone posting museum photos. Someone at a cafe with a book and a cute pastry. You tell yourself they’re having a better life than you.
But half the time they’re just doing what you could have done, if you weren’t waiting for permission from someone else’s calendar.
Waiting is the quiet killer.
Not because friends are bad. Friends are great. Love is great. Shared memories are real.
The problem is when your entire life becomes contingent on other people’s availability.
You turn into this person who is always “down” but never actually doing. Always “we should.” Always “soon.” Always “when everyone is free.” You start stockpiling intentions like they’re experiences.
A year goes by that way so fast it makes you nauseous.
A lot of people don’t realize how much they’ve outsourced their living until they hit a wall.
They break up. Their best friend moves. Everyone gets busy. Someone has kids. Someone gets depressed. Someone becomes a work zombie. Suddenly the social engine that carried you stops. And you’re left standing there like a person who forgot how to walk without holding someone’s hand.
That’s when “go alone” stops sounding like empowerment and starts sounding like survival.
There’s a specific sadness in realizing you’ve been sitting in your apartment waiting for other people to press play on your life.
Like you’re paused until someone else is ready.
learn to go alone.
Not because it makes you edgy.
Because it keeps you from turning your life into a waiting room.
Going alone teaches you something your nervous system needs to learn: solitude is not rejection.
You walk into the coffee shop alone and nobody cares. The barista does not care. The couple at the corner table does not care. The guy on his laptop does not care. Most people are so wrapped up in themselves that your aloneness is invisible.
That’s the first relief.
The second relief is quieter: you start noticing what you actually like.
When you go with friends, you’re in group mode. Compromise mode. Conversation mode. Social performance mode.
Alone, you’re in attention mode.
You notice the light in the museum hitting the floor. You notice you want to stay five minutes longer in front of one painting. You notice which songs hit harder when you’re not trying to look cool about it. You notice you like sitting by the window. You notice you prefer earlier showtimes. You notice you like walking slowly after the movie instead of immediately debriefing it.
You start developing taste that isn’t filtered through anyone else.
That’s a form of adulthood people skip.
Also, going alone is a kind of quiet rebellion against shame.

Even when I was in the pit of pits, there's a reason I documented my growth.
Because e sure die say I go make am.
I'd tell my friends then, "my chances of making it are higher than my chances of finding love".
Guy, have insane belief in yourself and back it with insane work.
I think it is just due that I spin a 🧵for ambitious/career/beautiful women currently making their bread.
Take this from a brother.
There's a strain of men who deploy a particularly psychological tool, you should discern against.
They won't like this tweet but I'll explain.
I don't know how to say this whilst sounding "humble" but you should count yourself lucky to daily interact with how my mind works, regardless the version of me you engage on here.
I'm not your typical everyday chad you meet. How I think is different, how I've lived is different, what I've done and what I can do - different.
I don't know what "move like Albert" means but if you mean academically sound, respectfully, I'm chunked in the exclusive 0.01% of the world's population.
By SS1, I had concluded all the Organic Chemistry syllabuses end to end - my first principal would have me teach my seniors. My second principal who has an English Major used my notes as marking guide. So, it wasn't just science.
I'm different.
I have two diplomas, a first degree, 2 medical masters, I'm rounding off 2 PhDs. All First class and distinctions. I'm actually not your mate.
With careers, I've swam in different waters.
I was BEGGED to start teaching at 16 & I taught high school biology, chemistry, mathematics. I did so for 6 years. In the entire zone, I didn't have any mates. Not even my former teachers, respectfully.
During NYSC, I lectured at School of Health, Jega as a Microbiology don for 18 months. I came out and got trained by Google to be a cloud engineer ended up getting certified up till DevOps Engineering by 4 cloud stacks. Respectfully, I'm not your mate.
I've played tech defensive as an Engineer - I can write codes in Python & R proficiently (not Hello World). I have Linux certifications. I've also played tech offensive as I've led market expansion into Europe for web3 products, my offensive stack has also included devrel, operations and product growth. I'll take any product community from 0 to brain twisted advocates. Respectfully, I'm not your mate.
5 years now, I've narrowed on cancer research starting with endometrial cancer, I investigated the repurposing of antipsychotics for the treatment of estrogenous and nonestrogenous cell lines. I have 3 coauthored works, one is in the pipeline. Currently, I'm interfacing single nucleotide polymorphisms, their upstream and downstream effects in oligodendrogliomas. Respectfully, I'm not your mate.
I'm not even from a privileged background because the income from my early days came from hawking, commercial motorcycling and private lesson tutoring. It's all been blood, sand and sweat.
I know how to talk a big game if I want to, and I have the balls and brains to back it up. I'm different.
if you mean, putting out multifaceted content - again, I'm not your mate.
I took 3 years on Twitter to consistently put out trading and investment contents, I was live trading, running 2 20K sized communities (still active). I made a lot of people on this streets their first 4fig $ on airdrops. I was options trading, future trading, spot trading, Dex trading in public, all profitably. I silenced that online persona for personal reasons. Respectfully, I'm not your mate.
I helped thousands of people onboard into tech with free resources DAILY. Most of the threads on my pinned are from 4 years ago, that was my persona.
That we're setting agendas together on the timeline today doesn't mean I'm your mate. It is because that's what I want. Just see it as Jesus coming to fellowship with mortal men.
If you come for me, I won't be an intellectual - I'll come for your ass for 5 years.
I'm not feeding from social media, I don't have a brand, I'm not an influencer. I'm just me, a mad man who might inspire you on some days.
As you've seen, I'm not boxable. Whatever you see on this ride, be there for it because my name is SALAKO AND I AM SOLID.
Being overly accessible is a problem.
Your value dips with increasing availability.
Build scarcity into your system.
People do not value what they are used to.
They value what they have to struggle to get.
Your time, attention, and presence should be protected and go to where it is valued.
Peace be with you all! This is the first greeting spoken by the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd. I would like this greeting of peace to resound in your hearts, in your families, and among all people, wherever they may be, in every nation and throughout the world.
Today marks my first official day in office as Mayor of @lbbdcouncil
I’m incredibly grateful for all the love and support.
Looking forward to a year of service, impact, and community.
Let’s make it a great one!
I've just come out of a conversation with a contact who is engaged in the Sahel, and the one piece of advise I have for the multiple Burkinabés from media, academia and civil society who are currently being contacted by the usual suspects to lend their vocal and intellectual support to the artificial anti-Traoré bandwagon that Paris and DC are putting together is this:
Remember that there is nothing special about you.
The same way they're reaching out to you and acting as if they respect you and your work, is the same way they've reached out to many of us across the sub-region. I promise you are not special to them at all. You're just useful. For now. The respect and reverence they are treating you with is the same affected "respect" they have bamboozled us with for 500 years, because they know that nothing gets a black man's pussy wet like receiving "respect" and "honour" from his European overlords.
They did the same thing in Nigeria between 2011 and 2015. Every squirrel, antelope, Aisha, Dipo, and Japheth who offered even the mildest criticism of Goodluck Jonathan was immediately carried aloft and paraded around as a champion of this and that by the oyibos. It didn't take them long to figure out that "Jonathan Must Go" was their ticket to what seemed like everlasting favours, treats, and funding from oyibo, and they all started unanimously pushing to oust the president that took Nigeria to #1 economy in Africa and 3rd fastest growing on the planet.
Many of these people didn't even dislike Goodluck Jonathan - they just saw that pretending as if Nigeria was being ruled by Pol Pot was their ticket out of poverty and obscurity. Some of them built this career grift in 24 months all the way from Twitter into Chevening scholarships, IVLPs, Mandela Washington Fellowships, speaking appearances in Taiwan, Canadian passports, etc etc. But those were only the lucky few. The vast majority of this demographic got discarded like a used pure water bag immediately the oyibos got their desired regime change.
Since they got their regime change, Nigeria has fallen off a cliff from #1 to #4 in Africa, losing over 60% of GDP in just 10 years. I will repeat that for emphasis. While other countries in Africa grew at 2-5% annually over the past 10 years, Nigeria SHRANK by over 60%, and you can now find Nigerians desperately searching for a better life in Burkina Faso, Algeria, Mali, Libya, Tunisia, Liberia, and even Niger which used to hold the title of "poorest country in the world." Most of the loudmouths who helped make this a reality have fallen back into obscurity and poverty.
Many of them are in their 40s and 50s now, and they're still busy chasing gigs and hunting for $1000 here, $2,500 there. A few of them did become puppet unicorns, but the vast majority are back to being absolutely nobody 10 years after they allowed foreign attention and dollars to override their natural caution and stampede them into the 2nd worst ever national mistake in Nigeria's history after the completely unnecessary civil war.
Many of them walk around in a constant state of confusion now, unable to understand why their lives are much worse nowadays, and the oyibos who seemingly cared so much about whatever they had to say between 2011 and 2015 are no longer answering the phone or replying messages. If you allow these same oyibos to inflate your egos and use it to push your mouths into parroting their narrative for their own geopolitical goals, the exact same thing will happen to you.
Before you allow the thirst for white people's validation and money to shape your responses to the questions they are currently deluding you with, just ask yourself this one question:
All those years when Burkina Faso was the deadest country on the planet and Blaise Campaore's regime was shooting Burkinabés dead in the street, where were all these bleeding heart white people? Why didn't they care then?
Why do they care about Ibrahim Traoré now? What is this REALLY about?
