Early career teachers (year 4, 5, 6): What advice would you give to first or second years? What teaching practices and/or wellness strategies made a huge difference? I'm open to pitches too! https://t.co/zIuNd8cYSw
My lifelong dream is now reality! I am overjoyed to begin my career this fall as a first grade teacher at Mount Olive Elementary! I am oh so expectant and thrilled for this journey🍎📝
Day two of my final week at @VHElemEast! We observed raptors, participated in awesome team building activities, and explored adaptations with @CampMcD! What a fun few days for fifth grade!
Day one of my final week at @VHElemEast! So many fun hands-on learning experiences with @CampMcD for our in-school field trip! We can’t wait to learn more tomorrow!
Two years ago today, I interviewed for admittance into the School of Education. Today, I interview for local school districts through the @SamfordEd virtual interview day. I am thankful for the opportunities this school has provided in every moment as we have come full circle.
Took a trip to 1776 in fifth grade yesterday! My colonists have decided to declare their independence from Great Britain. We got to hear from 7 of our founding fathers through a reader’s theater, then took action to fill out the Declaration using a quill and ink, of course!
Every day is something new, fun, & challenging for 5th graders at @VHElemEast. Today we dove into simplifying expressions for pre-op forms, surgery, & patient medication in the order of operations operating room. Students were challenged, but motivated by engagement! @vhcschools
My intern @_MissBinder_ from @SamfordEd rocking her first lesson in our classroom! Digging deeper into who contributed to Jackie Robinson’s success through the book Promises to Keep. @sharonarobinson@ELeducation
Relatable and fun engagement is what students need! It is an honor to be diving into an environment where this is the norm. A little effort sure goes a long way!
Multiplying decimals is WAY more fun w/ a theme! Thanks Sol Azteca restaurant for letting us use your menu to get “orders”. A server’s apron, check presenter & name tag made us official & an individually wrapped snack completed the activity! @VHElemEast@vhcschools@_MissBinder_
Our @kappadeltapi chapter at @SamfordEd has curated online learning materials for K-12 + Special Educators. Visit the vault to explore resources for all grade levels! https://t.co/LSDdA4LtG6
This is the woman who went above and beyond as my home bound teacher after a surgery my senior year. She is the teacher who recognizes the power of relationships and uses those for good. Mrs. Hunt is the teacher that I want to be and I am better because I was her student.
“From the outside I was a great student. I participated in everything: sports, music, you name it. Plus I’d gotten ‘straight A’s’ since elementary school. But there was a side of me that I kept hidden..."
First week in our technology course and we are jumping into learning all the skills and programs that teachers are utilizing now more than ever. This was definitely a fun one to explore! #BitmojiClassroom
Exploration while babysitting! We formed hypotheses, learned about acids, bases, and change, and even grew jelly crystals! “I thought science was just boring and not fun at all, but my mind is blown right now!”- “F”, age 6 #scienceisfun#WomenInSTEM#explore
You inspired me but it turns out that I have a slight disproportionality in my catalogue😳. I need chapter book recommendations! #edutwitter#educators#library
