On Tuesday, MNCAPS Trades students visited BLUvera in St. Paul to see how this manufacturer is innovating construction, building, and technology. Thanks to MNCAPS mentor (and dad) Nate Haack for inviting us and showing us a new side of the industry!
No two days are ever the same- and when the park is closed, it’s busy season for the maintenance team! A special thanks to MNCAPS mentor Renee Hengemuehle and maintenance supervisor Nick Ungaro for setting this up and guiding us through the park!
The Valleyfair maintenance department welcomed the MNCAPS Trades students on Thursday. The students could not believe all the trades represented in one place! Carpentry, fabrication and welding, painting, mechanics, hydraulics, HVAC- it was awesome!
The Trades Pathway visited Construct Tomorrow at the MN State Fairgrounds in late January! Booths had interactive, hands-on activities for the students to try out and information from various union members on how to become apprentices in many of the skilled trades!
Healthcare Year 1 students received hands-on experiences with lung therapy and intubation practices with Mayo Clinic Respiratory Health students coming to our campus. Real world learning through doing! We are grateful for our relationship with @MayoClinicSchoolofHealthScience
Thank you to Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences for once again hosting Healthcare students and helping us explore career fields including the Nuclear Medicine, Echocardiography, Paramedic, and Clinical Neurophysiology Technology programs yesterday.
Two of our Healthcare Year 1 Pathway Students, Mataya and Olivia were given the opportunity to shadow their mentor, a CRNA at St. Francis Hospital! They observed a variety of surgeries, including a C-section. It was a great experience they will never forget!
