@NYCSportsSizzle@postcrabcore Love AT and I think he’s a top 5 LT when he plays, but he’s sooo injury prone. It’s easy to understand why he gets looked over, hopefully he can stay healthy this year and show everyone who he is
@scottcwheeler I think almost all of the guys mentioned are better than Hutson, but I’d say Hutson is more valuable than almost all of the guys mentioned
@_NickRichard He was prone to missing some big hits in Oshawa but was always a good enough skater to make up for missed hits. Obviously want to clean up the misses, but I like how he invites the physicality and isn’t shy throwing his weight around
@JerryJurellJr@fksambennett He’ll get some assists and chip in a goal every now and again but his bread and butter is on the defensive side of things. Not comparing the players but think Jake McCabe’s production so far in Toronto
For as much as I’ve seen Zellweger and Bryam as potential trade candidates for Toronto, I’m really surprised no one’s really thrown out Brandt Clarke. Really great young D who could instantly run pp1 here
As much as Berube needed to go, let’s not forget what he did for us… Was a game away from the conference finals and was the tank commander this year. That being said my top 3 candidates are:
Bruce Cassidy
David Carle
Jay Woodcroft
@LeafsLLoser I feel like “most people” are heavily banking on him developing on the defensive side. I can’t see him being more than a 2nd pair run the 2nd pp kinda guy. I guess time will tell
I don’t get the Chase Reid hype. Big right shot D, yes—but of the “big 4” he’s #4 for me. My comp: Matt Grzelcyk. A guy who can contribute for a decade+? Any team would love a pick to pan out like that. But you CAN’T take a 2nd pair D with the 2nd overall pick.
@LeafsLLoser In 4 games (2 vs OSH, 1 vs NB, and 1 VS KIT) he had 9g and 3a accounting for 50% of his goals and 25% of his points, again in just 4 games. While I think he’s still a first round talent, he should not be going #2 overall and he definitely doesn’t have a franchise Dman ceiling
@LeafsLLoser This is what I see Reid doing. For as a good a skater as he is, his decision making can be questionable and his defence can be suspect. He’s also inconsistent offensively.
