@ChikaWithMika@aeri_orbit @eboymnl I understand the outrage and I agree that there have been many instances wherein the govt has used laws to serve their personal vendetta. But this was not one of them. Keng provided evidence and certifications to clear his name, which was not published by Rappler.
@ChikaWithMika@aeri_orbit @eboymnl With regards to the Wilfred Keng case, do you then think that Rappler does not hold any accountability in his defamation? If your name was dragged down the way his was, is it still fair game?
To me it's not even their unsolicited advice that bothers me anymore. It's the fact that they implied that should you be harassed while wearing something revealing, you are somehow less deserving of protection. #HijaAko#rapeisrape
"ADVICE LANG 'YON." Dumepensa ang hepe ng Lucban Police sa paalala nila sa mga babae kontra pambabastos.
Aniya, na-misinterpret lang ang Facebook post ngunit sa kabila nito’y pinagpapaliwanag na ng PNP ang opisyal. https://t.co/Lmen4sgIjI
@aeri_orbit @eboymnl And the fact that it is being taken seriously is a sign that the justice system is at work and that we don't overlook these cases simply to protect their press freedom.
@eboymnl I don't support Mocha Uson and the Government is not perfect. But the hate for Maria Ressa is not a simple case of being "kontra sa gobyerno". There are numerous critics against the government. But Ressa has multiple cases against her that falls under our LAW and CONSITUTION.
Journalists have such a strong voice in our society. And honestly, we need them now more than ever. I don't want to silence them, just please ensure that you use your voice responsibly.

Part of the #RessaGuilty promulgation is the court declaring that the CASE DOES NOT INVOLVE THE GOVERNMENT OR ANY OFFICIAL AS A COMPLAINANT.
Wilfredo Keng is a Filipino citizen too. Does Rappler believe that only they have the right to justice?

@AP The cyber libel case was filed by a businessman and a private citizen against Rappler's Maria Ressa. This is not an issue of press freedom but "Responsible Journalism".
Justice is served to Mr. Wilfredo Keng. #YesToResponsibleJournalism

The lawyers of businessman Wilfredo Keng welcome the favorable decision of the court. The say they are not in a celebratory mood, they explained that all of this could have been avoided if Rappler had published the side of their client. | via @Nikobaua
@cnnphilippines@anjocalimario I'm all for freedom of speech, but as a press member it is a responsibility to have proof if you'll accuse someone of being a criminal. This is justice at work, not freedom of speech being killed. Know the difference.
