- Democratic Republic of Congo said on Friday that
⚠️ 71 new Ebola cases were ⚠️ confirmed in a 24-hour ​period and 🚨 warned of rapid 🚨 community transmission of the deadly ‌disease.

- The new data, included in a daily situation report published by the health ministry, bring the ⚠️ total number of confirmed cases to ⚠️ 452 since the ​outbreak of the rare Bundibugyo strain of Ebola was announced ​on May 15. There have been ⚠️ 82 confirmed deaths.

- The ⁠➡️ cases remain heavily concentrated in Ituri province in northeast Congo, a ​remote part of the country with poor health infrastructure and widespread ​insecurity due to fighting by armed groups.

- The daily total of ➡️ 71 new cases - ➡️ 65 in Ituri province and ➡️ six in North Kivu province - is one of ​the biggest during the outbreak, the 17th in Congo's history.

- 🚨 "The number ​of confirmed cases recorded in the two provinces demonstrates 🚨 rapid and continuous community ‌transmission," ⁠the situation report said.

- Cases have been confirmed in 17 of Ituri's 36 health zones, as well as in seven health zones in North Kivu and one health zone in South Kivu, the report ​said. There are also ​cases in ⁠neighbouring Uganda.

- Earlier on Friday, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced a $518 million six-month plan to fight ​Ebola, calling for money and political commitment to ​halt the ⁠spread of an outbreak that is already the fourth-biggest on record.

- The strategy aims to help Congo and neighbouring Uganda contain their outbreaks, while assisting other ⁠countries ​to prepare for possible cases through measures ​including enhanced border screening, the WHO and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention ​said.

Milei just submitted his AI legislative framework to Congress, where he proposes:
- zero regulation on AI development,
- a brand-new "non-human corporation" category for AI/robot-operated entities with limited liability
-a low-tax regime with flexible governance rules.

The Dutch East India Company gave the world the limited liability company in 1602. Milei wants Argentina to do the same for autonomous AI agents in 2026.

The residents of Auchtertool in Fife are campaigning against a monster AI data centre that is being proposed to be situated right next to their scenic village.

Just look at the size of this monstrosity. The 61-acre site features six AI data halls rising up to 35 metres high. It dwarfs the neighbouring village of Auchtertool. Imagine living next to this?

The proposed data centre is one of the biggest in the world - bigger than their village. And it’s estimated that the 600MW energy consumption with be 20% of Scotland entire energy consumption. It’s also being situated on beautiful countryside. Fife Council haven’t published an environmental impact report.

The development would sit directly on scenic countryside, build directly over the historic ruins of Halyard's Castle, and threaten the adjacent Auchtertool Linn Wildlife Site. Recent planning portal filings reveal the data centre site would be secured by invisible infra-red lighting and 3-metre fencing topped with trident spikes.

This campaign to stop this AI data centre monstrosity in Fife is now receiving huge amounts of media and social media coverage. For once, people power can defeat tech corporations power if this campaign continues to be amplified.

This is a big issue. Not just for Auchtertool, not just for Fife, not just for Scotland but for the world and we have to make a stand against the huge environmental and energy and water supply risks caused by these AI data centres.

In Ireland data centres energy demand has put unprecedented strain on the grid. A moratorium on new data centre construction was put in place in 2021 due to fears of blackouts which was only eased last year. This energy crisis in Ireland happened with 22% of Ireland’s energy (2025 figures) used by data centres. The energy demands of the Auchtertool hyperscale data centre alone would take Scotland’s data centre energy demand to this level.  

The total demand for energy from data centres in Scotland’s planning system is now 6,200MW and plans for six sites that haven’t reached planning stage yet, which would take the total to over 11,000MW, nearly three times the amount of Scotland’s winter peak demand.

Also, rising energy prices: In the USA, energy prices have soared due to the infrastructure that has had to be built to support the energy demands of hyperscale data centres. Bloomberg has reported that prices soared by up to 267% more in areas with data centres.

It’s time for governments to put the concerns of the public before the profit margins of tech billionaires.

AI data centres: The monstrosities that guzzle energy and water supply:

▪️84% of proposed UK AI data centres are planned in areas that are projected to be water stressed by 2040. 

▪️If AI data centres electricity use doubles as projected by 2030, the associated carbon footprint would require 6.7 billion trees grown over ten years to offset this demand.

▪️Data centres would also require 9.3 trillion litres of water and land nearly ten times the size of Mexico City.

As global energy and water supplies are already under strain and with fragile water ecosystems worldwide, can there really be any justification for governments to facilitate tech giants and their plundering of energy and water?

And while the AI centres guzzle water and energy, we will be told by the government to switch off our lights and switch off the hosepipes due to supply shortages.

The island has 3,600 Cold War nuclear bunkers, miles of tunnels, an underground hospital, an underground school, & an underground cinema — features the development plan markets as suitable for "adaptive reuse."

The Albanians are in the streets. The international press is laughing at Ivanka's "we discovered the island" line. The questions almost nobody is bothering to ask are What's actually being built? And on whose behalf? And through which network?

Spoiler: the network is the one Jeffrey Epstein spent his last decade assembling.
