Let's brush up on some feline body language together! I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. A volunteer writes: Sudoku started kneading as soon as he saw me and then came forward with greetings for the ages. Sudoku was left behind in a building and a dedicated caretaker kept him where they could. Aside from that, he's been on his for a little while, so his history before is a little bit of a puzzle and so is seeing him here now. Sudoku's the type of cat who only wants to be part of the action, sharing his friendship and love with anyone looking his way. We know that too much of anything isn't always the best, so Sudoku's looking for someone who wants to learn about his body language and respect his wishes equally for when he wants to take a break and when he wants to cuddle and play. He's hoping it'll be you. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

Behaviorally, Zack is grumbly and growls, but also leans into petting and allows handling. We suspect the growling is due to discomfort/pain. This evaluation/diagnosis means that ZACK will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. Zack interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience, demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior. Meet Zack! Zack is a gentle, sweet 3-year-old boy who arrived as a stray. Though shy and a bit fearful in new environments, he quickly warms up and loves soft head, cheek, and belly scratches-even making happy paws while being pet! Zack is currently recovering from hip injuries (bilateral hip luxations) and luxating patellas. He is receiving pain management, fluids, and anti-nausea meds while orthopedic treatment plans are finalized. He has a temporary neuter waiver while healing and needs a calm, patient home with an owner who can provide follow-up veterinary care to help him make a full recovery. Zack interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. A volunteer writes: I'm sure that there are plenty of things that Momo wishes he could tell us. Things that would help us to understand who he is and what he likes, but any variation of communication can be easier said than done when you're all on your own. Momo isn't exactly that, as we're proudly on his team, but he's still left us guessing quite a bit. Mostly what we've been able to deduce are things that Momo doesn't like. When I met him, he tried to politely decline my friendship by folding himself into the corner and flattening his little ears. Though Momo successfully made his point, I also know that he's been through quite a few changes recently through no fault of his own. At the shelter he tends to lean away or freeze in place in response to our outstretched hands and though he does allow some pets from time to time, it hasn't exactly been his thing. We're very sure that a forever family where he can be himself and communicate as freely as he feels will be the perfect fit. What my friends at ACC say about me: I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

A volunteer writes: Collecting his information the best way he knows how, Angel tucks himself into a soft little loaf and tries to piece it all together. I commend him for his efforts and recognize their value, even if, maybe especially if, they fall on the quieter side of the spectrum. In Angel's life before the shelter, he took his time warming up to new people but would lay gently once he did. He looks like a big teddy bear, but please don't let those fluffy cheeks fool you as getting used to shelter life hasn't been easy with all the new sights and sounds. Angel is FIV+ and has some medical needs that will require follow up, but he hopes someone will notice him and share a little chance his way. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
