The point is, regardless of the outcome, why would she want to be found, "not guilty," even if by way of insanity. Which IS a not guilty verdict. It means the prosecution didn't prove the requisite intent, the mens rea.

Of all the drama happening within conservatism right now, and all my optimism for how the people of principle have drawn the lines to once and for all purge those who have no place in our movement, the one thing I find just laughable, if it weren’t so outrageously hypocritical, is this murmuring of how we can’t have a “purity test” when it comes to grifters, conspiracy nut jobs, anti-semites, and racially nativist lunatics. I literally watched @JDVance go on stage and call @nro “a—holes” before saying he was “embarrassed to have ever written for them.” The Tucker-wing has done nothing for years but insult “establishment” conservatives (the only types to have ever gotten anything done). The comical bashing I’ve heard of Mitch McConnell over the years. What @realDonaldTrump said about @RandPaul about two weeks ago. I could go on and on and on. But NOW, with bottom-feeders like Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens, NOW they “don’t want a purity test”
Spare me.
It’s a time for choosing. I choose principle.
