One of the Left's favorite power plays is to insist you have a set of obligations to everyone and anyone, anywhere, equally, nullifying all relationships, bonds and contracts and rendering reciprocity irrelevant, so that people that believe in no such obligations can destroy you.
@ticejoja@TallbarFIN Putin's whole schtick is doing stupid things. Invading Ukraine in 2014 was stupid. It made no sense. Escalating in 2022 was even stupider. But he does them anyway. And Ukraine didn't like that even though Russia can't win. See how that works?
@Rob44925761318@VDAREJamesK Not even close. They are increasing their Indian workers 50% just this year. They have proclaimed that they are ready to welcome "an unlimited number" of workers from there, Africa and Central Asia. They've removed visa requirements for many of the worst countries you can imagine
Interestingly the number of major nationally recognized memorials and museums is roughly the same per capita in both countries, impressive when you consider streets aren't really a thing in most of Russia. However it makes sense when you consider it was only the camps on territory captured by Russia in which they found the death roller coasters and masturbation machines. The Ukraine war is in many ways a replay of this, with the narrative that the Ukrainians are Nazis, guilty of genocide, who need to be occupied and systematically brainwashed to hate themselves:
"Denazification of Ukraine must be a de-Europeanization of Ukraine. The Bandera elites must be liquidated, they cannot be re-educated. The social swamp that supported them must experience the terror of war and learn the lesson and pay for its guilt."

I'd say Oswald Spengler is one example; I don't necessarily mean that they become totally undocumented but rather than a household name becomes something only nerdy intellectuals have heard of, or people on the edges of society. Sometimes they come back later when it's safe but sometimes they just get more and more obscure until almost no one remembers.
In the vatnik sphere, if Ukraine doesn't propose or accept negotiations and ceasefires, that is proof they are the invader and "want to keep the war going". If they do, it is proof they are losing, despite all battlefield realities. If they return fire, it is a war crime, if they do not, it is proof they have no more will or resources to fight so just hurry up and isolate them, surrender to Russia what they cannot take by force, oh god please please please we need this, and so on and so forth.
Honestly with the system that has been created it's plausible that she could have no relationship to Russia at all. If you stay silent or side with Ukraine, there's no audience for you. You're not a "someone" if you're not the press secretary or people aren't interested in your book about how much you love Zelensky. But if you support the invasion... well then suddenly, Tucker Carlson and the Twitter algorithm are very aware that you exist and want to parade you in front of an audience of tens of millions.
