The vision our Martyrs held for a better #Eritrea has been obstructed by a regime that disregards constitutional principles and the rule of law. We will fight until these aspirations are achieved. #FreeEritrea
Since June 2007, three different Special Rapporteurs have accused the gov of #Eritrea of torture, arbitrary detention, enforced disappearances, and restrictions of the rights to freedom of expression, association, and peaceful assembly and other egregious human rights violations.
Every Eritrean, including those who deny it vehemently, knows this to be true.
Since 2007, the Gov of #Eritrea has refused to engage all 3 UN-appointed rapporteurs and claimed the right instrument to deal with human rights is the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and not “country-specific mandates”…. then ignored all the recommendations of UPR anyway.
It’s time for the whole cycle to be repeated.

Just received my copy of the book #EritreaMyNation by the courageous & visionary fighter, Ato. Berhane Abrehe. Ato. Berhane dared to defy censorship, using his pen to share a powerful message advocating for human rights, democracy, freedom of expression, and social justice.
“Grasp your one necessity and not let it go, dangle from it limp, wherever it takes you. Then even death, where you are going no matter how you live, cannot you part.”
Tesfaldet (Tes) Meharenna: A man who knew his one necessity and lived it fully and compassionately.
