@medpharmaguy In tv and radio yes, but those two can't really cater for every generation. They should branch out on fb or twitter to connect to the younger generation.

Q2: It depends if the physician is working on private or goverment hospital. If goverment, only generic name should be written and if it is private, both generic and suggested brand by the doctor should be written.

@medpharmaguy provided that the generic name is included, MDs may include their brand preference. MDs can suggest the brands but reasons may be subjective. in any case, pt should have the freedom to choose the brand #myxisamedrep

@medpharmaguy there are MDs that rx branded meds d/t their experience in effectivity. there are some who rx branded meds depending on the perks given to them by the medreps. personally if im the patient, id care less about the brand but more if it’s the right med for my condition

Q2 I think it's ok to use brand names in prescriptions since it gives our patients more reassurance. However, its generic counterpart should also be written, as to give the them an option of buying a drug that is just as effective but at a lower price #Rxwriting @medpharmaguy

Q1 this generics act beside that it is a LAW (obviously) and have a penalties on it (5-10k shocks). Adherence to this law benefits those who lack in status. In order for some doctor to adhere to it. I think social media will be a factor,

Q2 They can put brand names as long as the physician explained the availability of generic names, and the possible options to take. Taking in to consideration the status help most patients. (you always have a choice)

I think the doctor should write both the brand name and the generic name (unless in a public hospital), it would be also better to discuss the pros and cons of each if there is any so that the patient can have the freedom to choose. Q2

I think because of the prejudice of the patients against generic medicine and its effects affect how prescription of generics is not widely use. Since it is only now that there is mainstream advertisement for it. (Q1 1/2)

Mainstream/social media is the best way of informing or educating the public, so the prejudice will lessen. And by informing them about generics maybe they can be more open about it with their doctors or/and vice versa. (Q1 2/2)
