Today we mourn the loss of Katherine Tamminen, a pillar of the SCAPPS community. Katherine was an amazing researcher and President, but more importantly, a dear colleague and friend. Our sympathies go out to all those whose lives were touched by Katherine.

Dr. Joseph Baker (University of Toronto) shared a thought-provoking talk for the Carron lecture titled, “Nature, nurture, noise and nonsense: Unlocking the puzzle of exceptional achievement”.
His research encourages us to think deeply about how we view athlete development.
Dr. Brian Maraj (University of Alberta) delivered a warm and heartfelt talk for this year’s Wilberg lecture.
His talk was titled, “There’s no place like home”. Lots of fun pictures and SCAPPS stories shared!

Sarah-Lynne, a Mi’kmaq woman from Sipekne’katik First Nation and Canadian taekwondo athlete, has dedicated over 20 years to advancing Indigenous sport and community.

Dr. Wendy Rodgers (former SCAPPS president and current UPEI president) provided some opening remarks and reflections from her time in SCAPPS.
