Dear Medical Dr, Dear Hijabie, First, this is not about feminism. You have to understand the Islamic context of what I wrote.

A Muslim woman can be educated, independent, a doctor, a professional & still recognise that marriage comes with certain rights & responsibilities. Seeking or considering a husband’s input is not the same as being incapable of making decisions about your own health.

Islam does not teach a woman to neglect her health or surrender her judgment. It teaches spouses to consult, respect and consider one another, especially in matters that affect the family.

So this is not about choosing between “myself” and “my husband.” It is about understanding marriage through the lens of Islam rather than through feminism or individualism.

This is a 12-month, full-time, in-person programme designed for young graduates from all 15 ECOWAS member states, including Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Senegal, and others.

Eligibility:
• Citizens of any ECOWAS member state
• Age: 18–32 years
• Bachelor’s degree or higher

Required documents:
• CV
• Motivation letter
• Academic certificates
• Valid national ID or passport

Previous stipend (Batch 2026):
• $500/month for participants posted to their home country
• $800/month plus a return flight ticket for those posted outside their home country

Note: The stipend for Batch 2027 has not yet been announced.
