I used to think that holding your tongue was a sign of maturity, but I realized that a true sign of growth and maturity is being able to vocalize your feelings in an appropriate manner even if you are angry. Holding your tongue just fosters unexpressed feelings that lead to
Oh I’m SEATED! The original Director and writer for the now cancelled Blade film teamed up with Mahershala Ali to give us a different sword welding action film with emotional depth. I’m 1000% here for it!!!
make sure you respect your partner more than you love them because you can cause a lot of damage to them while still loving them. when you respect them you'll think about them before you make any move & you'll think about the impact it will have on them
Please learn to recognize when you are self sabotaging or abandoning yourself, all in the name of loving a person who does not love you back, all in the name of putting in effort in a relationship where it is not reciprocated, learn to see the signs, learn to feel the weight, learn to hear the quiet voice inside you that knows something is wrong, because that voice is not your enemy, it is your protector, and it has been trying to get your attention for a long time.
You keep giving, keep hoping, keep bending over backward for someone who would not do the same for you, you keep making excuses for their distance, their inconsistency, their lack of effort, you keep telling yourself that if you just try a little harder, love a little louder, give a little more, they will finally see your worth, but they will not, because they are not blind, they are just not interested, and no amount of sacrifice on your part will make them choose you.
So learn to recognize when you are abandoning yourself. Know when to say, you know what, I am nobody's fool, and stop.
you can’t fucking expect a woman to stay the same after she spent months begging for the bare minimum. that’s where most men get it wrong. the woman who used to blow up your phone becomes a woman who doesn’t care if you reply and the woman who used to fight for you becomes the woman who walks away without looking back. not because she stopped loving you but because she got tired of loving someone who kept taking her for granted.
I’m real big on communication. If something changed, you could’ve talked to me. If you felt different, you could’ve told me that. I would’ve respected the truth way more than watching your effort change while you acted like everything was normal. We too grown to be moving weird instead of having a real conversation. Once you choose silence over being honest with me, I’m cool on you 💯
The world is a harsh place. No one notices your tears, your sadness or your pain. Only the Almighty does. But everyone jumps at the slightest mistake you make. Such is the nature of this life
Sometimes you’re not attached to the person. You’re attached to the moments when they made you feel chosen. So you keep waiting for that version of them to come back, while ignoring the version that’s actually standing in front of you.
Going through a phase right now where I’ve finally made peace with letting things go. Feelings, people, old fears, all of it. It’s time for new beginnings, new chapters that actually bring happiness and love instead of just familiarity. It’s time to move on with my life instead of dragging the old version of it along with me.
There is a Japanese Legend that says:
"Whether it's a machine, a house, or a relationship. Maintenance is always cheaper than repairing." What you don't maintain, you eventually lose.
The hardest part of being emotionally intelligent is that you are always willing to understand things from everyone's perspective, but people are often unable to reciprocate that understanding. You spend so much time making sure others feel seen and heard, but when it is your turn to be heard and understood, it feels like no one is there. People do not seem to notice when you are hurting; they forget that you have emotions too, even if you do not always show them.
