Wrong analysis!!
Right parameter will be to assess vote share, not seat share because seats increased more 3 times in 2026:
Seats in 2021: 3034
Seats in 2024: 10245
FYI,
BJP's larger seat share doesnot correspond to an equally large vote share.
Vote share shows close competition.
BJP vote share: 35.18%
Congress vote share: 34.24%
So difference is only 0.94%
BJP's 2026 result might be a narrow victory, but it has lost several politically prestigious urban centres.
The most damaging reverses are Ajmer, Jhalawar, Baran and Pali, while Bharatpur is especially embarrassing because it is the Chief Minister's home turf.
So while you continue to celebrate, advise you to do some introspection.
Overconfidence or arrogance won't help!!
тА╝я╕ПHigh Court interferes in the Illegal 91% Reservation in Four Government Medical CollegesтА╝я╕П
Our writ petition challenging the 91% reservation for SC/ST candidates in four Government Medical Colleges in Uttar Pradesh was heard today by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.
The challenge concerns the Government Medical Colleges at Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Saloon and Saharanpur.
The petitioners contend that the reservation causes total reservations to exceed the 50% ceiling laid down by the Supreme Court Constitution Bench in Indra Sawhney v. Union of India.
The matter was heard by a Division Bench comprising Justice Alok Mathur and Justice Amitabh Kumar Rai. Senior Advocate Amrendra Nath Tripathi appeared for the aggrieved NEET aspirants.
During the hearing, the petitionersтАЩ senior counsel submitted that, in an earlier proceeding last year, the State Government had given a written undertaking that the enhanced reservation would not continue from the subsequent academic year.
Despite that undertaking, the State allegedly implemented the enhanced reservation again in the four colleges.
Counsel argued that the State could not act contrary to an undertaking given before the Court.
The Bench expressed serious displeasure with the State GovernmentтАЩs conduct, particularly the absence of any counsel representing the State to explain or defend the impugned action. It also questioned the StateтАЩs decision to proceed contrary to its earlier undertaking.
The Court directed that all admissions made pursuant to the impugned reservation would remain subject to the final outcome of the writ petition.
The matter has been listed for further hearing on 16 September 2026. The Court also directed the concerned Principal Secretary of the State Government to remain personally present and explain and defend the decision. They have also asked the Director General of Medical Education to be present.
The petition raises issues concerning reservations exceeding the 50% ceiling recognised in Indra Sawhney and the consequences of allegedly acting contrary to an undertaking given to the Court.
SC vs OBC case of caste-discrimination.
But GC are painted as "oppressors" and SC-OBC unite together as "oppressed Bahujan."
That's the story of social justice in this country!!
