1. He expects to play & play well

1. It's the Arizona Cardinals...a mess of an organization. Even in that mess he had some pretty damn good years.

2. JJ McCarthy played at a Christian Ponder rookie year / JaMarcus Russell level. Could he get better? Sure. Is it more likely he sucks? Yes.

I think you're just not thinking about how much these players and coaches want to win right now. Who gives you the best opportunity to do that... Kyler or JJ? It's Kyler.

It's an agreement from both parties because right now JJ sucks and KOC needs to win a playoff game or his seat gets hot.

He's still one of the best running threat QBs in the game. Now he's not perfect & you can poke holes in some of this stuff but we're talking about competing against JJ McCarthy here

They're promising him the job because they're qb situation is terrible & KOC needs to win. Whatever faults Murray has he's still at least a slightly above average QB when you sum up his game / statistics.

The org can say whatever, but barring god awful play, injury, or McCarthy looking like mahomes, Murray is the starter week 1 & only injury is remotely likely.

It needs to be repeated that McCarthy could still be good one day. Vikings should keep him unless his attitude makes it untenable.

Kyler will start because currently he's better & I hope he does well.

The likelihood that McCarthy is QB1 at any point this season minus an injury is zilch. Dan Patrick was teasing KOC about this recently. You don't sign Murray to be your back up no matter what's the org wants you to think
