While video footage of his mistreatment later emerged and broke hearts across the world, the final victory belonged entirely to Giorgi. By choosing honor over his own life, his fierce defiance transformed him into an immortal symbol of patriotism and ultimate resilience for the entire Georgian community. He was posthumously awarded Georgia's highest honor the title of National Hero proving to the world that while a soldier can be captured, the unbreakable soul of a nation can never be forced to surrender!
