Every book has a story behind it.

Facing the Dreams You Let Die was not born from theory, but from lived realities—mine, and those of many young people I have met.

I wrote this book because I have seen too many dreams quietly buried, not by failure, but by compromise. I have met brilliant students who once had fire in their eyes, but now walk burdened by procrastination, fear, and distraction. I have listened to friends who admitted that somewhere along the line, they let their ambitions slip away—not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked guidance, clarity, or the courage to begin again.

I wrote this book because I believe our generation is facing a silent epidemic: the epidemic of “unlived lives.” We are busier than ever, yet emptier than ever. We chase everything except the things that matter most. We mask avoidance with productivity, and in the process, we silence the voice that once whispered to us: you were meant for more.

I wrote this book as a reminder—to myself first, that dreams rooted in sincerity, discipline, and faith should never be surrendered. Life will test you, yes. Failure will visit you, yes. But a dream abandoned without a fight becomes a regret, and regrets are far heavier to carry than struggles.

I wrote this book for university students, because they are at the crossroads of life. At that stage, choices are made that shape decades. It is there that distractions are loudest, temptations strongest, and identity most fragile. If at that moment, a young person can be reminded to realign their goals with Allah, to embrace discipline, and to walk courageously toward their ambitions, then their entire future can be transformed.

Finally, I wrote this book as an act of sadaqah. I wanted the soft copy to be free, so that no student, no dreamer, no believer has to be denied its message because of money. My hope is that every page becomes a conversation with the reader—a nudge to wake up, to rise again, and to live a life of clarity, purpose, and ihsan.

This book is my gift, my warning, and my hope. A gift to the Ummah, a warning against wasted lives, and a hope that even one reader will confront their buried dreams and say: *it’s not too late to begin again.
