"Political language - and with variations this is true of all political parties...is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable..." Orwell
@JillCollier16@crimesofbrits He was voted that because British history, as taught in schools, portrayed in the media & commonly understood/perceived, is whitewashed, sanitised, distorted, selective & false. We tell ourselves a fictional tale that enables us to cling on to the illusion of 'greatness'.
@JAHeale That appears to be an offence under Section 114A of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (corrupt practice and undue influence):
(4) (e) causing spiritual injury to, or placing undue spiritual pressure on, a person

Lord Lister backs up claims of toxic culture in No 10 as he’s shown messages in which Simon Case says “top drawer people” had refused to work there because of the “toxic reputation” of Boris Johnson’s operation. Case says “at this rate, I will struggle to last six months.”
@WRNSomersetDors Hi. I just tried to DM you, but it resulted in my account getting temporarily locked (WFT?!). I'm in the area and might be interested in meeting up.
@SmilerTurner@blablafishcakes@DawnLaw98346851@sharrond62 You're making a wild claim and providing zero evidence to back up that claim. Why should anyone believe you just because you said some words? And no, other people don't have to spend 2 or 3 years of thier life doing primary research to prove your claims for you.
"Rishi Sunak told the House of Commons that the [asylum] backlog was “half the size that it was when Labour was in office”". The Home Office's own figures report that it is nearly 9 times greater.
Hopefully Sunak will correct his statement to the House at the first opportunity.
@FeministRoar I am very concerned about the level of education, intelligence & critical thinking ability in English speaking nations.
Also... Stop the planet. I want to get off.
@AndyGilder@catherinerowett@TX9191@RichardJMurphy Oooh! What a lovely Sunday afternoon chat.
Are you this much of a patronising dickhead IRL? Or do you save it all up in order to be a total absolute wanker online?
Hmmm... Do you also complain about how Twitter is a shithole & people are shit to each other these days?
@ShalairJ@TX9191@RichardJMurphy Or... If he moved his investments from stocks & bonds into a private unit trust, he'd no longer pay income tax on returns. He'd pay capital gains tax instead.
And this is why Sunak releasing his 'tax return' is pointless - b/c the info released is vague & worthless.
@AndyGilder@catherinerowett@TX9191@RichardJMurphy If his investments are managed by using a unit trust, his profit will be taxed as capital gains instead of income. He might have moved to a unit trust.

"Murphy pretending he's a tax expert again"
Says the IT professional about a Professor of Accounting.
@Lachlan_Edi@8RosarioSanchez And KJK has been online since to blame all this trouble, violence & division on left wing gender atheists who questioned the wisdom of cozying up with the US hard right & cautioned that it could have serious negative consequences.
@FeministRoar And to be fair, KJK does warrant some criticism.
I can't help but notice the similarity btwn KJK & Tommy Robinson. Including thier apparent ability to turn 'campaigning' into a lucrative business.
@FeministRoar And if you point all this out to them... Well... You get verbal abuse, repeated denial or (online) an immediate block.
The right call other people 'fragile' & 'snowflake', but the moment thier 'side' receives any criticism, they lose the plot.
