@iquocoop@CindyDarius AAP has a study showing that patients do follow their providers and that they tend to buy in to information that they post. It's reassuring that if we use our voice on social media, we can make and impact and hopefully overshadow some of the misinformation out there.
@Kimdonegonecraz I think that's an excellent idea. AAP and the CDC has some good toolkit information for social media posts. Here are some specific to immunizations:
@kmciltr1 @muddpit5 A6: I have learned that providers can impact change for their patients and their organization with targeted posts. I found it interesting that patients engage more on Facebook than on Twitter. https://t.co/XN7YQPUgnM OrgLead18 #JHSON
@AdamjiJehan@kmciltr1 @muddpit5 I think that personal health monitoring has a lot of potential. I'm interested to see where this will take us in the future.
@Emma_Sexton@kmciltr1 @muddpit5 Interesting statistic! This article points out the many positives and negatives that must be carefully considered when engaging in social media. Thanks for the link!
@kmciltr1 A1: My personal brand focuses on human interaction and includes: professionalism, evidence-based knowledge, respect, and good rapport. AANP assists NP’s with branding: https://t.co/BmLw3dsaRD

@kmciltr1 @muddpit5 A5: Immunization posts are often not evidence-based, but research shows providers can have a positive impact with their posts. AAP and CDC both have toolkits to assist. #OrgLead18#JHSON

@wsharpe51@sharhs01@kmciltr1 I totally agree! I keep a list of websites for patients on certain conditions so that I can easily refer them to evidence-based information.
@MixueX@Sharon_ParkNP@AprilCamiling@kmciltr1 Our organization uses this too. It makes easier for providers and also helps improve access to information that some patients wouldn't seek out otherwise.
@KT_FNP @kmciltr1 This is an excellent use of social media! Healthier employees are also a cost benefit to companies in terms of days of work lost and insurance paid.
@kmciltr1 A3: My organization is not on social media for worry about privacy concerns and lack of interest by partners. It could benefit from marketing and patient education regarding seasonal health and safety trends and common conditions. #OrgLead18#JHSON
@maraeva51183653 I love that you include empowerment in your description. It is impactful and really does shift the focus to the patient. Great analogy to leadership, as we are all leading patient health.
