Mamdani messed up here, and it shouldn’t have been complicated.
When you become mayor of New York City, you don’t just represent your voters. You represent the whole city.
And NYC has 2.5 million Catholics.
Skipping the installation of the new Archbishop of New York was a symbolic insult, whether he meant it or not.
Politics is not only policy. It’s presence.
Every mayor for 85 years understood this:
You show up, you shake hands, you honor the city’s institutions, even if they’re not your own.
Because that’s what leadership looks like.
If you want unity, you don’t start your term by snubbing one of the largest communities in your city.
My wife showed me something last night that made my stomach drop.
A friend of hers. Marriage on the rocks. Showed me the reels this woman was watching.
Every. Single. One. Telling her to leave.
"If he wanted to, he would."
"You're not asking for too much."
"Choosing yourself isn't selfish."
She didn't search for this. The algorithm clustered it after one pause during a weak moment.
One pause. And now she's building a case against her husband in her head.
The feed is the lion. And it's patient.
Your grandfather didn't compete with an audience voting on whether she should stay.
I wrote about what's happening and what to do about it. Link below.
Yo siempre haciendo patria.
- ¿Debilitaron las guerrillas? NO
- ¿Bajaron los impuestos? NO
- ¿Redujeron las masacres? NO
- ¿Mejoraron el sistema de salud? NO
- ¿Les funcionó la paz total? NO
Por eso en el mes de mayo ni un solo voto por la continuidad del gobierno de @petrogustavo.
Recuperaremos el país.
Karoline Leavitt leaves the briefing room completely silent while detailing the horrific reality ICE agents face in Minneapolis.
She stares directly at the reporters who are running cover for the left-wing terrorists attacking agents.
“I would just encourage everyone to please imagine in this room, all of you come to the White House every day to report on the president of the United States and the administration.”
“You come into this briefing room, you walk through the gates of the White House, Just imagine if there were left-wing agitators or agitators of any kind who were in your face, who were doxing you, who were harassing you, who were physically threatening you, who were biting off your fingers in the case of two Border Patrol agents we saw this past weekend in Minneapolis.”
“That would make it very difficult for you to show up and do your job here at the White House every single day. That's what these officers in Minneapolis are facing.”
Newsom isn't at Davos to represent California. He's there to audition for a national role. That only works if the conversation is about Trump, not CA's $45B deficit, insurance collapse, or fire response failures.
If California were thriving, he'd be talking about California.
He's not. He's talking about Trump
Stephen A. Smith just COOKED Gavin Newsom 🔥
'Why are you in Davos, Switzerland, speaking negatively about the President? ... When we go somewhere else, it's America first. You don’t go on a world stage to disrespect your own house!'
Meanwhile, CA's in shambles...homeless camps, crime waves, billions in deficits.
Fix your state before lecturing the world, @GavinNewsom!

In Minneapolis, a woman was killed. The country knows about it. People are openly arguing, protesting, condemning, and demanding answers in public, on every platform, without fear of punishment.
That fact alone tells you something decisive about the nature of the society.
In Iran, women protested being beaten and murdered for showing their hair. The regime shut off the power and the internet so it could slaughter them in darkness. Thousands were killed in days. No public debate. No free press. No accountability. Silence enforced at gunpoint.
If someone tells you women are “safer” under that system, they’re not confused. They’re lying.
And if self-described communists run cover for a theocratic dictatorship while pretending to stand with “the people,” understand the pattern: they don’t oppose tyranny. They rationalize it. They always side with power once it’s consolidated.
Don't let anyone gaslight you into equating a free society, where potential atrocities can be exposed and condemned, with a regime whose violence is policy and whose first move is to turn out the lights.
We’re seeing protests at the same time in the U.S. and Iran
One demands a change of government
The other opposes the deportation of illegal immigrants
In one country, protesters are being shot and the internet is shut down
In the other, people shout while police stand by
It’s easy to forget the privilege of living in a democracy

Sentiments of Venezuelans
I’m going to say this once, and I don’t care if it makes people uncomfortable.
If you have never lived in Venezuela
If you did not grow up there
If you did not watch your country collapse in real time
If you did not stand in food lines
If you did not watch your parents lose everything they built
If you did not have to leave your home with nothing
Then shut the fuck up.
You do not have an opinion.
Your opinion does not matter.
And you don’t get to lecture anyone about what’s happening there.
I’m Venezuelan.
I lived there most of my life until my early twenties.
I watched my country go from a functioning democracy to full blown socialism right in front of my eyes.
This is not politics to me.
This is trauma.
Before socialism, Venezuela was not perfect, but it worked.
There was trade.
There was money coming in.
There was investment from the US.
There were jobs.
There was food.
There was medicine.
My family had five businesses.
We had our home
We had investments.
We had a future.
Then the government started nationalizing everything.
Private companies were taken.
Foreign investors were pushed out.
Imports were blocked.
Price controls destroyed production.
Corruption exploded.
And everything died.
Not slowly.
Violently.
People didn’t suddenly become poor because of “capitalism” or “the US” or whatever bullshit slogan people like to repeat online.
They became poor because socialism destroyed incentives, destroyed production, destroyed trust, and destroyed hope.
People today in Venezuela are not debating ideology.
They are trying to survive.
They are trying to find food.
Trying to find medication.
Trying to keep their families alive.
So when I see people in the West posting from comfortable homes, full fridges, stable currencies, and safe streets talking about “imperialism” or “US bad” or “Trump this or that”
No.
It’s not complicated.
You’re just ignorant.
China is not rebuilding Venezuela.
Russia is not rebuilding Venezuela.
Cartels are not rebuilding Venezuela.
They are stealing.
They are extracting.
They are draining what’s left.
If the US comes in and reinvests
If refineries get rebuilt
If infrastructure gets restored
If imports open back up
If food, water, and medicine become accessible again
If people can work and earn with dignity
Then yes.
Let them take all the oil they want.
Because at least something gets built instead of destroyed.
This is something to celebrate.
Not because it’s perfect.
But because for the first time in a long time, there is hope.
Hope that families can eat.
Hope that people don’t have to flee their country.
Hope that Venezuela can function again.
If you’ve never lived through a country collapsing
If you’ve never watched socialism destroy everything around you
If you’ve never had to leave your home because staying meant starvation
Then again
Shut the fuck up.
This isn’t theory.
This isn’t politics.
This is lived experience.

Democrats are shamelessly circulating a video of fentanyl zombies in Philadelphia, trying to mock President Trump by claiming he wants to “run Venezuela” while insisting he can’t run our own country.
But this video does the exact opposite, it’s a perfect example of Democrats self-owning.
Let’s be clear: Philadelphia has been under unbroken Democratic leadership since 1952, over 70 years of failure. And the results speak for themselves.
The 5 U.S. cities/counties with the highest drug overdose death rates, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Nashville, Indianapolis, and Washington, D.C. all run by Democrats.
It’s past time Americans open their eyes and face the devastating consequences of decades of failed Democratic rule.
