This is bound to be an unpopular post with some, but I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER. Not for recruiting or the level of play, but for what it provides young players that club does not. I will often hear coaches claim that it players digress or develop bad habits. I disagree. First of all, “if you’re good, you’re good.“ And I believe that young athletes who are playing any sport in any environment are put into situations where they have to react, make decisions, execute and grow. When it comes to girls in particular, high school provides a platform for growth in confidence and leadership that far outweighs the technical and tactical compromise for just a few months out of the year. The MLS is basically high school for Messi, and he seems just fine.
Obviously, to play at the next level, the development that club provides is ESSENTIAL. And I think there is no reason that both platforms can’t coexist for the majority of players. There’s nothing quite like the camaraderie on a high school team and playing for your community— not to mention the pure FUN.

"Do you believe in miracles?! YES!" On this date back in 1980 Al Michaels delivered one of the most famous calls in sports history as #TeamUSA upset the powerhouse Soviet Union 4-3 at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. #80s
This is awesome!!! The two stadiums next to each other allow for semi finals to play concurrently. It will be an exciting time! Will also allow start times to be pushed back with the second stadium, so the girls championship is not always scorchinghot part of the day.
memories yall gifted me. Thank you and congrats!! I will miss yall dearly!
So many other congrats & thank yous are in order. But if I learned one thing, this is about you girls, not us.

Tracy Chapman — who hasn’t performed live in years — just sang “Fast Car” on stage with Luke Combs at the Grammy’s.
The backstory behind this collaboration is incredible.
Combs’ first favourite song ever was “Fast Car”. He covered it in early 2023 as a country version and the song hit #1 on country charts in July.
Chapman owns the song’s composition rights and became the first black female to top the Country chart as a sole writer.
What did she think of the cover?
Chapman told Billboard at the time: “I never expected to find myself on the country charts, but I’m honored to be there. I’m happy for Luke….and grateful that new fans have found and embraced ‘Fast Car.’”
Combs honored the original version, which he first listened to when his dad popped a cassette in the car.
“You want to just be mega respectful of the original song,” says the 33-year old country singer, per CMT. “That’s why in [my cover], it’s, ‘work in the market as a checkout girl.’ I didn’t change that…I really wanted to just do the original version of the song.”
Them performing it together tonight is perfection.
