It was a great day for a great cause, and I’m humbled and blessed to have been a part of it 🙏 It definitely made me a lot further aware and interested in indigenous history and culture. Not to mention I learnt heaps from helping others troubleshoot their docker/kubes problems!
@TassSinclair Reminds me of the time I was in Japan, and eating at a sushi train place, and could hear the kitchen staff in the back speaking in Vietnamese really loudly 😆😂
2. When things get too messy, we might need to let go, of some or all. I was too attached to the code I've written, which has created this messy loop. After some reflections, I decided to to let go of my past attachment & re-write the component, slice by slice & it now works!
The React hook - useEffect - has got me thinking about life & how we can get stuck in the infinite loop of thinking in circles, just like how a React app can get stuck in a loop of infinite state update with useEffect 😂🧵
1. Sometimes we need to take a step out of this loop, be it React/Life & reconsider what we are in control of. In the React case, I had to step away, re-assess what I was doing in useEffect that was causing a state change, and asked if that was the right place to be doing that.
I used to think no one would really care that much if there’s a one cent off error, until I had to pay 1 cent extra today and somehow felt slightly ripped off 😂 Damn you JavaScript!
