Julian:
"I thought it was over. I ain't gonna lie to you. Getting waived with no warning, no nothing, explanation or anything, it was tough. Big, big shout out to the San Antonio Spurs taking an opportunity to a kid from Brooklyn"
Everybody talks about rankings.
Few people talk about evaluation integrity.
This piece isn’t about who made the ESPN Top 100. It’s about how grassroots basketball slowly started valuing popularity, narratives, and algorithms over real impact, winning, feel, and translatable skill.
The game deserves evaluators who trust their eyes again.

I continue to be impressed by the progression of Prentiss Gates (Gary West Side H.S. 2029).
The 6’7” center for Meanstreets has a real case to be considered the #1 prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2029.
Elite shot-blocker. Catches it when you throw it to him. Dunks on the rim run

Meanstreets EYBL 15U (2029) continued to compete at a high level despite falling to AB Elite 76-69. The group showed balance offensively with multiple players making an impact on both ends throughout the game.
Travis Jamison led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds while Mason Spicer added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Prentiss Gates finished with 12 points and 4 blocks, continuing to provide strong interior presence defensively. Dallas Marshall chipped in 11 points, while Dakari Nesbitt contributed across the board with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
This team continues to show toughness, versatility, and several young players capable of impacting winning in different ways.
@MeanstreetsEYB
DeShawn Clay Jr. (Gary West H.S. 2029) just had a great stretch for Meanstreets 15u.
The 6’2” guard buried a corner catch-and-shoot 3, attacked a closeout for an And-1, and assisted from the high post versus a zone defense.
Skilled young guard with a lot of upside.
“The Baddest Jaxson/Jackson Since Michael.”
