@LaneyGB80@JamesHosie11@Humanists_UK They’re not saying children shouldn’t be taught about religion. On the contrary… they’re asking for all religions to be taught rather than one specific religion being taught as fact.
@JamesHosie11@Humanists_UK I’d suggest you read what is linked to. They have not dismissed RE as religious indoctrination. They have suggested reforming it to be not a million miles from what you describe. It is the teaching of specific faith based elements (e.g. bible stories) as facts that is at issue
@karrux @gunsnrosesgirl3 not necessarily… interaction with those in our direct vicinity doesn’t need to drop just because we have increased our interaction with wider social circles. wider, more diverse social circles seems like a good thing to me. definitely a good thing for those who met online
@RJohnDavis@JohnMcHugh1878@David__Osland we’re going to have to pay it one way or the other – nationalised or not. either via increased bills if it remains private or via some other means (bills / taxes etc) if nationalised. the key difference is that we will no longer pay shareholders so less money needed going forward
why so much focus on masonry – an out-dated design that hardly anyone uses? I agree it should be separate to grid (if built) but why build it at all? developing things they want to develop rather than all the things they should develop imo

@johnquinn83@ByCasagrande@daisychristo how so?
- keeper gets ball
- keeper kicks ball to opposition area packed with players
- other keeper gets ball
- keeper kicks ball to opposition area packed with players
- repeat for 90 minutes
very dull and precisely why we have offside
@5tuuuu @GaryInBelfast but religion is a bad example. as Gary pointed out, it muddies the waters. I’d also say that your premise that “teaching of religion promotes moral development” and “diversity, justice and to some degree truth-finding” is incorrect. It does no such thing. sociology does that
@dvassallo @bartekpacia “No laws without representation”… if you break a law whilst in a country other than your own you will rightly be punished under that country’s laws. Why should serving your website to a different country be any different? Don’t like the law, don’t put your website there
@ChrisBirks11@anon_opin if you don’t specify a salary you will miss out on the tonnes of people who automatically dismiss such adverts, many of whom are the better candidates who don’t want to waste their time on applying for jobs without a specified salary
@TimWardCam@anon_opin@georgebernhard if you don’t specify a salary some good people will then not apply. in fact your advert will not appear in people’s searches if they include salary in their search which many do. there is no good reason (n.b. “good”) to not specify salary
@PicturesFoIder you should stop posting this. you know full well it is old and was pulled pretty quickly after release.
also – whilst this poster may have been badly written – it is men that need to be reminded that getting a women drunk in order to have sex with her is rape
@MatthewW_eacc@kyleshevlin a basic examination of the theory shows poverty isn’t required as such. a basic examination of the reality clearly shows otherwise.
AI absolutely will not bring about the end of money. a complete rebuilding of the structure of society would be required for that.
@MatthewW_eacc@kyleshevlin poverty could only come to an end via the global rejection of money and capitalism. that’s not happening any time soon. capitalism requires the existence of poverty. you can’t have the super-rich without poverty. you’re living in a fantasy if you think poverty is about to end
