Why did we all bust our as*es getting Democrats elected to the presidency and in control of both houses of Congress if they can't do a simple thing like protect voting rights?
We’re witnessing an all-out assault on our democracy — and we need to act swiftly to protect the sacred right to vote.
We need the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
The U.S. Senate is the only institution in the world where a vote of 59-41 can be considered a defeat instead of a huge victory. Enough is enough. Let us change the outdated rules of the Senate, end the filibuster and pass a bold agenda for working families with majority vote.
Congratulations to Democrats in Texas for protecting democracy and the right to vote. Let's see if Democrats in the U.S. Senate have the same courage. We MUST pass S. 1, the For The People Act. The future of American democracy is at stake.
When we say defund, we’re talking about needing to divest from the parts of our society that are harming and killing us—and invest in the parts that help keep us healthy and alive.
We deserve life.
There were 54 votes in favor of enacting the January 6 Commission, and 35 opposed, but because our rules are completely bananas that means that the 35 WON THE VOTE. The filibuster must go.
I will never accept a system that lets billionaires add $1,620,000,000,000 to their wealth in 13 months but doesn’t raise the $7.25 minimum wage for 12 years.
