IBA 'Tudakul water reservoir' took the first place in #EBW19 Uzbekistan sites with 24,000 (!) birds of 31 species counted by Head of #UzSPB branch in Bukhara. Dalmatian Pelican (25) and Marbled Teal (10) were spectacular observations

#UzSPB members from Samarkand region joined #EBW19 watching birds in Zarafhsn National Park, Chelek fishfarm and Samarkand city. They observed Sykes’s Warbler (1), Common Buzzard (3), Turkestan Tit (4), Common Kestrel (6) and Sulphur-bellied Warbler (1)

#EBW19 participants in Karakalpakstan observed 548 birds of 17 species on Ashikul lake. They watched Slender-billed Gull (58), Black-necked Grebe (32), Red-necked Grebe (7), Red-crested Pochard (55), Common Pochard (14) and Northern Shoveler (20).

#UzSPB atteneded #EBW19 with 38,902 birds of 95 species observed. Three top species were Mallard (12,468), Common Coot (12,261) and Sociable Lapwing (4,685)!

To promote #SpringAlive 'Bird collision with windows and glass' theme #UzSPB broadcasted the issue on prime time national TV. 35-minute documentary ‘Ornithologist’ stressed the dangers faced by migrants in cities – especially Common Swift, earliest and most numerous migrant.

#SpringAlive summed up this season results: 2019 turned out to be most massive in Europe and Central Asia! Thanks to active participation of #UzSPB in Spring Alive, events on ‘Birds collision with windows and glass’ theme reached over 5 million people!

33 peopele took part in #IWC2019 on six reservoirs in Tashkent, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Bukhara and Namangan regions of #Uzbekistan. In total, 40193 waterbirds of 48 species was counted. #WaterbirdsCount #IWC

The largest number of waterbirds during #IWC2019 in Uzbekistan was recorded on the Tudakul reservoir in Bukhara region, 15425 birds of 25 species, including such rare and threatened species as Dalmatin Pelican, Mute Swan, Osprey, White-tailed Eagle

The next area in Uzbekistan where the #IWC2019 was held is Tuzkan Lake in Djizzakh region. Participants have noted 2029 waterbirds of 28 species: Eurasian Coot (484), Black-headed Gull (205), Mute Swan (155), Caspian Gull (143), Dalmatin Pelican ( 136) and others #IWC #AWC

#IWC2019 in Samarkand were held in Kattakurgan reservoir by teachers and students of Samarkand State University. They have noted 1706 waterbirds belonging to 19 species. #WaterbirdsCount #IWC #AWC

2019 Asian Waterbird Census counts (IWC) in Uzbekistan. The IBA Tuyabuguz reservoir in Tashkent region became the first area in which the #IWC2019 was held on January 13. 10 545 birds of 20 species were counted.#WaterbirdsCount #IWC #AWC
