After 10 years, I've finally completed my bachelor's of science degree. After fighting through severe depression, PTSD, years of police investigation resulting in taking my abuser to court, too many health problems to mention ... I've finally finished. Feels unreal.
With chronic illness, you normalise so many things most people won't ever feel. You normalise high levels of pain, being exhausted, medical procedures and trauma, needing to rest after a shower. People see you surviving with an illness, but not all you had to normalise to do so.
The grief of chronic illness/disability isn’t talked about or normalized enough. Healthy/able bodied people want us to be inspiration porn instead of being actual human beings that are suffering. Not everyone has a magical getting better story.
Reminders:
— Safe abortions will still be sought and had by conservative white women and privately encouraged by conservative white men
— Unsafe abortions will still be sought by desperate marginalized people with horrific consequences, leading to needless death and suffering

Pre-Roe, I was 8 yrs old. I came home from school to find my Mom lying in a puddle of blood. She was weak & asked me to call a neighbor. She was miscarrying, but the embryo would not abort. For 48 hours, she bled while doctors transfused blood, waiting. Abortions were illegal.
My cat Monty has been rushed to the animal hospital for possible neurological problems. I am worried sick. Please send all your prayers, positive thoughts and good vibes his way. #CatsOfTwitter
You're worried about the inconvenience of wearing a mask, while people who are immunocompromised are worried about dying from COVID. It's not the same thing.
@wonder_cripple Was told that there couldn't possibly be "so many things wrong with me" and that I probably have munchausen syndrome instead. She only believed me (despite official dxs) when I dislocated in front of her
Every time I see President Zelenskyy, staying, fighting even after the offer of removal by USA I'm reminded of the time our prime minister hid in a fridge from Good Morning Britain
