Well intended but uninformed take. We’re approaching a point where all pre-prod (vis de, storyboarding) could be done using gen AI, and as long as the final design/anim was human made, you could skirt copy-write issues & still cut millions of jobs. Alternately, a company could create an in-house gen AI model that trains on its *own* former work, therefore owning its own hideous incestuous AI babies and being allowed to sell it without any staff at all. Don’t look at where the tech is *now,* look at its rate of acceleration to where it *will be* in a few years. The tech is only going to get more powerful, if we don’t create rules protecting human workers now, it could be an extinction level event for artists. Tech trends + corporate incentives make this inevitable without union protection
I think being against the slaughter of innocent Palestinians, the destruction of their homes, and displacing them by an apartheid regime supported and upheld by American taxpayer-paid weapons and bombs doesn't require a lot of knowledge about the Middle East
