@sharonpeculia Omor I am in this state

Islam isn’t reserved for the pious, for those who pray, fast and donate, for those who outwardly comply with what a Muslim should look like. It’s for the broken too. For the sinners. For the drinkers. For the smokers. For the lost. For those waiting to be found. It’s for
My AS friend was sharing her experience one day but she didn't know I am AS too. We are friends but the kind of energy I was getting from her was more than friendship. The greenlight wasn't subtle, it was crystal clear but I'm much aware about our incompatibility.
Randomly remembered when I was going through alot, I never told anyone.
One night I couldn't sleep, tears was flowing anyhow, I picked up my phone around 12am, called my elder bro, with tears I poured out my heart. I asked him to give my mum the phone since her phone was off...
This thread is to address certain cultural deficiencies we have in Arewa, where we view toxic behaviors such as domestic abuse as ways to assert dominance.
The Prophet SAW asked his companions, “Do you know who the strong person is?” His companions replied, “The one who is able to wrestle others down.” The Prophet responded, “No, it is the one who is able to control their anger.”
Slapping your wife is not the way to assert dominance.
Toxic masculinity is not the same as being an Alpha Male.
Who is an Alpha male? A simple google search will show you this definition; "a man tending to assume a dominant or domineering role in social or professional situations."
As a muslim, the two Most Alpha Males you will ever know in your life are The Prophet SAW and Umar R.A. treated women like the gems that they are.
In a sahih hadith, Umar R.A was so powerful (Alpha) that it was narrated the devil was afraid of him.
How many of us are Alpha like that? None
Sayidna Umar R.A was once approached by a man who's wife had raised her voice at him and he came to complain yet he overheared Umar's wife raising her voice at him and this was Umar, the then fierce Caliph and ruler of the Muslim empire and his wife was freely and confidently voicing her opinions
When asked he said, “She washes my clothes, sweeps the floors, cares for my children, and cleans my house, when Allah has not commanded her to do so, but she volunteers to do all that. Shouldn’t I tolerate her if she raises her voice?”
Once a woman brought a claim against Umar when he was caliph, When Umar appeared on trial before the judge, the judge stood up as a sign of respect. Umar reprimanded him saying “This is the first act of injustice you did to this woman”.
The Prophet SAW in multiple authentic hadiths has been protrayed as being extremely kind and generous to his wives and even engaging in public displays of affection.
He also narrated that;
“Every game a Muslim plays is futile except for archery, training one’s horses, and playing with one’s wife, for they are from praiseworthy acts.”
Keyword "Praiseworthy" you shouldn't be feared in your home, you should be respected and respect is earned not enforced.
Aisha (R.A) reported : “I raced him on foot and I outran him, but when I gained some weight, I raced him again and he outran me. The Prophet said: This is for that race.”
Aisha (RA) narrated, “The Prophet ﷺ used to lean on my lap and recite Qur’an while I was in menses.”
Aisha (RA) was asked: What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do in his house? She said: He was a human being like any other; he would clean his garment, milk his sheep and serve himself.
Then lastly Allah SWT says
“Your wives are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them.” [Qur’an 2:187]
Would anyone of you deliberately soil the garment he wears? Tear it or desecrate it? No? They are a covering a form of protection for you as well. They protect you from filth as you protect clean and adorn them.
The true Alpha Male in islam, respects and honours women as we are rightly taught.
If at the end of this thread you feel the need to argue, remember Islam as a Religion Supersedes Arewa as a Culture.
Forgive my shortcomings. I am neither Imam nor scholar. Any errors in this message are mine and mine alone.
Nigerian fathers when their wives travel:
*pushes bedroom door open and stomps inside daughter's room*
"Your mother said she was going for only ten days. It's been four days and she's not yet back. If I talk now, they'll say I'm restricting her freedom."
This man in front of me came with a grocery list to shop and he’s been calling his wife every minute to know how important each item is once he sees the prices. Our eyes jam and we both burst into laughter 😂😂
The cost of living now is insane.
