@colinspooky@spectator Even if they did use Sellotape they couldn't say Sellotape on air due to product placement laws. Otherwise every reference to Sellotape would be followed by "other brands of sticky tape are available"
@SONOFINDIA@NalinisKitchen We had smart boards when they were first a thing in the 00s. They soon stopped working and were more hassle. Ended up projecting onto a whiteboard, worked perfectly fine. Then they spashed out on these 6k each tvs and after a year all the pens are lost. Waste of money
@Jamie171205@arrivanortheast The bus stops were built so local buses could join up with the trains. The stations are miles from a lot of the town so thats the reason behind it. Ik for people who live my way the train doesnt make any difference because getting to the station is so difficult.
@2wheelsgoodBrum It is a flaw. But theres only so much money for road schemes so thats how it normally is. LAs have a big list of stuff that needs doing, and then a list of stuff that would be nice to do. Obviously it would be great to remodel every road and make them all safer
@2wheelsgoodBrum That would be the case if all roads were defaulted to 20mph. Not against a lower default but 20 is a bit extreme. Meet in the middle at 40 and then its much less work in terms of restricting roads.
@2wheelsgoodBrum Yes. So when accidents occur on the roads they get prioritised for speed restrictions and safety improvements. Even then people won't follow the signs of they can physically drive faster.
@2wheelsgoodBrum And who on earth is going to drive at 20mph everywhere? Soon you'll need traffic calming on every road to make people stick to the speed limits, with that you need street lighting - so you'll have to put electricity up every road. Its a nice thought but 20 would be impractical
@2wheelsgoodBrum The thing is with the UK is that most roads are derestricted so 60 in rural areas and 30 in built up areas as a maximum & it is up to the driver to drive at a speed appropriate for the conditions. Speed limits are only put in place on new roads and ones where speeding is an issue
@2wheelsgoodBrum I'd say maybe a default 40 limit with higher limits. But even then it'd cost loads to put in the signage and loads to evaluate every road in the country - most of which are "60" due to being derestricted (since local councils haven't seen inappropriate speed as an issue)
@railandroad Ive got a fantastic idea. Build this new line from London roughly following the WCML and go all the way up north and then you could run more trains!!!
@DazNUFC21@NewcastleCC Called architecture... all built at different times. They tried to flatten it all in the 60s - not very tasteful them buildings now
