Governor Radda Commissions Remawa Health Clinic, Enrolls 1,000 Residents into Health Insurance Scheme

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Saturday commissioned the Remawa Health Clinic in Rimi Local Government Area, constructed by Honourable Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Binta Remawa

Governor Radda in his remarks described the visit to the town as historic, saying he is the first sitting governor to officially visit Remawa in 39 years since Katsina State was created.

He commended Justice Binta for the project, which includes the health clinic, staff quarters and a solar-powered borehole.

“This facility, the quarters and water project are now yours. Protect them, maintain them and safeguard them so that our people can continue to benefit,” the Governor told the community.

Governor Radda announced that 1,000 residents from Remawa, Yargamna, ’Yar-tsamiya and ’Yar-nabanye communities would be enrolled into the Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Scheme, KTSCHMA.

The beneficiaries include pregnant women, children under five, the elderly above 60, and persons with dusabilities. The Executive Secretary of KTSCHMA Alhaji Muhammad Safana, said distribution would be handled by community leaders and health workers.

The Governor further stated that the Ministry of Health would provide drugs, health personnel and maintenance support for the clinic.

Governor Radda assured residents that the Remawa road has been designed and construction will commence before the end of the year or early next year. He also promised to personally renovate the town’s Juma’at Mosque using his private resources.

On education, he directed the Commissioner for Education to assess the expansion of the Community Secondary School in Remawa and support the completion of three additional classrooms.

He also directed that qualified NCE holders in the area be recruited and posted to teach in their communities, in line with the state’s new policy of local recruitment of teachers.

In her remarks, the facilitator of the project, Justice Binta Remawa, said the clinic was built to address the lack of healthcare and water in the area. She explained that the solar-powered borehole was drilled to 130 meters and planned for community-led maintenance culture.

She added that the facility has 24-hour solar power, solar streetlights, and staff quarters to enable health workers to live on site. Justice Binta appealed for government support to complete the Community Secondary School and provide a township road.

The State Commissioner for Health, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr.Shamsudeen Yahaya, said the facility would serve Remawa and neighbouring communities including ’Yargwamna, ’Yartsamiya and ’Yarnabanye.

He disclosed that the state government had renovated 8 health facilities in Rimi LGA, equipped them, with construction of staff quarters as well as provision of tricycle ambulance and employed 30 permanent health workers to strengthen primary healthcare at the grassroots.

Governor Radda Flags Off 2027 Budget Town Hall Meetings, Says Every Community Deserves a Voice

- Prioritize impactful projects, Budget Commissioner Urges Citizens

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has flagged off the second statewide ward-level town hall meetings for the collection of citizens' inputs into the preparation of the 2027 Katsina State Budget.

The Governor performed the flag-off at Radda Ward, Charanchi Local Government Area, on Saturday, while similar town hall meetings were held simultaneously across all 361 political wards in the state's 34 Local Government Areas.

Governor Radda described the exercise as another major milestone in his administration's commitment to placing citizens at the centre of governance through participatory budgeting.

"Today's exercise is not merely another public meeting. It is a continuation of the promise we made that governance must begin by listening to the people. Every community deserves to be heard, and every voice matters in shaping the future of Katsina State," the Governor stated.

Governor Radda recalled that the first ward-level budget consultations, conducted ahead of the 2026 Budget, transformed the relationship between government and citizens by giving thousands of residents the opportunity to directly influence government policies and development priorities.

"For the first time in our state's history, citizens across all 361 wards participated directly in shaping government priorities. That exercise strengthened our resolve to place the people at the centre of governance," he said.

The Governor noted that recommendations generated during the maiden consultations have continued to shape government interventions. Many of the identified projects are already being implemented across critical sectors, including road infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, water supply, youth empowerment, social protection, community development, and security support.

"We are currently implementing numerous projects captured in the 2026 Budget, while many recommendations from last year's consultations are still being implemented. Although resources are limited and the needs of our people continue to grow,” Governor Radda disclosed.

"I assure you that no genuine request is ignored. Where immediate implementation is not possible, such requests remain under consideration for subsequent budgets and other government interventions," he assured.

Governor Radda also explained that development is a continuous process, noting that while government may not be able to satisfy every request within a single budget cycle, it remains committed to investing in projects that genuinely improve the lives of the people rather than initiatives conceived without community input.

He stressed that sustainable development can only be achieved when communities actively participate not only in identifying projects but also in monitoring their implementation to ensure accountability, transparency, and value for public resources.

"This participatory budgeting process strengthens transparency, promotes accountability, builds trust between government and citizens, and ensures that public resources are directed towards projects that truly reflect the priorities of our communities," Governor Radda said.

He urged residents across the state to actively participate in the consultations by presenting projects and programmes that genuinely reflect the needs and aspirations of their communities.

"I encourage every participant to speak freely, honestly, and responsibly. Let your recommendations reflect the genuine priorities of your communities. Let us prioritise projects that will have the greatest impact on education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, economic empowerment, youth development, women empowerment, security, and other critical sectors," he added.

The ceremony, held at the residence of Dr. Inuwa in Katsina had Governor Radda served as the Waliy to the bride, while Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, stood as the Wakili for the groom, Alhaji Suleiman Umar.

Governor Radda Approves N500m Compensation for Modoji/Bakuru Federal Housing Project Affected Persons

- Okays Ruma-Daneji Bridge in Sandamu LGA

- Traditional Rulers to commence monthly security meetings

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the payment of over N500 million as compensation to persons whose lands, properties, and farmlands were affected by the Modoji/Bakuru Federal Housing Project in Katsina.

The approval was granted on Wednesday during the 11th Regular Meeting of the Katsina State Executive Council for 2026, held at the Upper Chamber, General Muhammadu Buhari House, Government House, Katsina.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Dr. Faisal Kaita, said the compensation covers developed and undeveloped structures, farmlands, and economic trees acquired for the project.

He noted that the payment is in line with the administration’s commitment to fairness, due process, and orderly implementation of development projects.

“The approval underscores His Excellency’s commitment to ensuring that citizens affected by government projects are adequately compensated while enabling the timely delivery of critical housing and economic initiatives,” Dr. Kaita said.

He added that with approvals granted at the 10th and 11th Council meetings, the state has now secured over 780 hectares of land for the Federal Housing Project. The Council also approved the allocation of land for the proposed Agro-Processing Zone at Tashar Bala, a project targeted at boosting agro-industrial development, value addition, and job creation.

In another key decision, the Council adopted the 2026–2027 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, as the basis for the state’s fiscal planning and annual budget.

The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Malik Anas, said the framework is designed to strengthen fiscal discipline, improve resource allocation, enhance transparency, and ensure policy consistency across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

“The MTEF will improve budget predictability, harmonise sectoral plans, and support evidence-based budgeting through credible economic projections,” Hon. Anas stated.

To further open up rural communities, the Council also approved the construction of a Semi-Bridge on the Ruma–Daneji Road in Sandamu Local Government Area through joint funding by the state government and the State and Local Government Joint Account.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Bashir Tanimu, said the bridge will improve access, ease the movement of people and goods, and boost agricultural and commercial activities in the area.

In a move to strengthen grassroots security, the Council approved the institutionalisation of monthly security meetings involving traditional rulers at ward, village, district, local government and state levels.

The Special Adviser on Local Government and Inspectorate Hon Lawal Rufai Safana said the meetings will provide a structured platform for intelligence gathering, early reporting of security concerns, and deeper collaboration between communities, traditional institutions, security agencies and government.

The resolutions of the 11th SEC meeting, the Council said, reflect Governor Radda’s commitment to prudent governance, strategic infrastructure, improved security, and inclusive development aimed at building a safer and more prosperous Katsina State.

CityBoy Movement Targets 10 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027

The CityBoy Movement on Monday began its National Retreat in Abuja, bringing together leaders, stakeholders and members from the 36 states and the FCT to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the retreat marked the movement's evolution into a youth-driven political platform focused on sustaining the Renewed Hope agenda. The movement's national patron, Seyi Tinubu, said the gathering was about preparing for the future, with the movement targeting 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next presidential election.

Governor Radda Leads Katsina Delegation to China, Engages Chinese Firms on AI, Smart Governance, Agricultural Mechanisation

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has led a high-level delegation to the People’s Republic of China on a Strategic Technology and Industrial Partnership Mission aimed at advancing the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda.

Governor Radda said the mission was to strengthen existing partnerships, explore new areas of collaboration, and identify practical technologies to support development in education, agriculture, security, governance, manufacturing and the digital economy.

“Technology has been integrated into our development strategy since the beginning of this administration. We are using it to improve public services, create economic opportunities, strengthen security and support growth across key sectors,” the Governor said.

The delegation reviewed ongoing projects in the state. Through the Katsina Directorate of Information and Communications Technology, KATDICT, the administration has implemented initiatives laying the foundation for a modern digital government.

One of the flagship projects is the Radda Smart Model School developed with Huawei Technologies. The school runs on 24-hour power, has high-speed internet, interactive smart boards and a Learning Management System to support modern teaching.

Governor Radda said Huawei, in collaboration with KATDICT, also donated a Mobile Digital Learning Truck. “It is taking digital literacy and technology training to schools and communities across the state, especially in underserved and remote areas,” he said.

On agriculture, the administration is working with Chinese partners to establish the Katsina Agricultural Mechanisation Centre. The centre is already improving access to modern equipment, boosting productivity and supporting food security.

In China, the delegation met with leading technology and industrial companies. Discussions, however, covered digital government, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, smart education, innovation ecosystems and digital public infrastructure.

The delegation visited the Huawei Global Training Centre, Research and Development facilities, manufacturing plants, Smart Campus and Integrated Operations Centre, IOC.

Governor Radda noted that Huawei’s IOC shows how technology supports intelligence-led governance through data integration, real-time monitoring and coordinated emergency response.

“The insights gained will help us strengthen security and improve coordination across government institutions in Katsina State,” he said.

The delegation also visited Geely Holding Group, one of China’s leading technology and manufacturing companies. Talks focused on sustainable mobility, electric vehicles, intelligent manufacturing and industrial development.

“These engagements give us useful perspectives on how technology, industrialisation and skills development can drive economic diversification and job creation,” Governor Radda added.

The Governor said the mission reaffirmed his administration’s approach of deploying practical technology solutions to improve outcomes in education, agriculture, healthcare, security, commerce and public administration.

“This is about building on existing partnerships and identifying new opportunities that will support the Building Your Future agenda and deliver a more productive, secure and prosperous Katsina State,” he concluded.

2027: Governor Radda Expresses Confidence in APC Victory as Tinubu-Dikko Campaign Office Opens in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep confidence in the victory of the All Progressives Congress as the country nears 2027 general elections.

Governor Radda made this known during the inauguration of “Tinubu-Dikko Again 2027” campaign office in Katsina.

The campaign office, established by former Governor Ibrahim Shema located along Daura Road near Hajj Camp aims at coordinating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Radda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Radda expressed confidence that the APC would retain power in 2027, citing the party’s strong grassroots structures and public support in Katsina State.

He said the campaign organisation, with structures in all 34 local government areas, wards and polling units, would strengthen mobilisation among women, youths and other supporters.

The Governor added that the APC would unveil its campaign programmes at the appropriate time and engage opposition parties during the official campaign period.

“I have no doubt, no fear and no hesitation about our chances in the next election,” Radda said. He attributed his confidence to divine support, the backing of party leaders and what he described as the confidence of ordinary people in his administration’s performance.

He commended former Governor Shema for establishing the campaign platform, describing it as an initiative that would further consolidate the APC’s political strength in Katsina State.

In his address, Shema urged APC members to remain united behind President Tinubu and Governor Radda. He said governance often requires difficult decisions that may not produce immediate results but are necessary for long-term national development.

“No government can fulfil every campaign promise in one tenure. The true measure of leadership is making decisions that serve the country’s long-term interests,” Shema said.

According to him, the economic and security reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration are meant to address longstanding national challenges. He urged Nigerians to be patient as the policies take effect.

Shema called on party members and Nigerians to continue praying for the country’s leaders and to support government efforts to improve security, revive the economy and promote social development.

He also appealed to community leaders, religious leaders and development partners to work together to tackle insecurity, particularly kidnapping and other violent crimes, describing security as a shared responsibility.

The former governor further charged APC members to intensify grassroots mobilisation by engaging voters from house to house and community to community ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged the party’s existing political structures to remain active and maintain close contact with the electorate rather than wait until the official campaign season.

Expressing optimism about the country’s future, Shema said he believed Nigeria, particularly the northern region, would witness improved economic and security conditions with sustained public support for government policies.

Other speakers at the event included businessman, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, GOC; former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, who chairs the Renewed Hope organisation in Katsina State; and APC State Chairman, Dr Bishir Gambo Saulawa.

Dignitaries in attendance also included Alhaji Idi Kwado Talban Damagaran and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bishir Tanimu Gambo, who also serves as Secretary of the Tinubu-Dikko Again 2027 organisation, alongside other government officials, APC leaders and supporters from across the state.

Governor Radda, Masari Attend Shamsudeen’s Burial in Abuja

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, alongside former Governor Aminu Bello Masari attend the Janazah Prayer held at the National Mosque, Abuja, in honour of Shamsudeen S. Ahmed, popularly known as ‘Kala’.

The late Shamsudeen laid to rest at Gudu Cemetery, served as the Governor’s Liaison Officer at the Katsina State Government Liaison Office in the Federal Capital Territory, and was also a former Director General of Protocol to the Katsina State Governor.

Governor Radda, on behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength to bear the loss.

SULTAN CALLS FOR SIGHTING OF SAFAR 1448AH NEW MOON

The Sultan of Sokoto and president-General Nigeria supreme council for islamic Affairs NSCIA, Muhammad sa'ad Abubakar
has called on the Muslim Ummah to look out for the new Moon of Safar 1448AH on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026, corresponding to the 29th day of Muharram 1448AH.

The call is contained in a press statement by Wazirin Sokoto and the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu.

It requested Muslims to begin the search for the new Moon on Tuesday and report any sighting to the nearest District or Village Head for onward communication to Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad saad Abubakar.
