Ann Arbor voters rejected 2 citizen-led ballot proposals that would have paved the way for conservative candidates to get elected. The margin was 2-1, similar to those by which my progressive colleagues and I were elected in primaries. #a2council 🧵
@dutchbikemom Great question. A group of us convened this morning to start this discussion. What causes are you most interested in? From supporting nonprofits doing good work to serving on a board or commission, there are options. DM me if you’d like!
Check in with your neighbors & friends today. Ugly cry. Scream into the void. Hydrate. Nap. Take care of body & soul. When you’re ready, GET INVOLVED. It is going to take every single one of us to fight back & protect each other & our community. #a2council
Grateful to all those who gave everything this election. Locally, we elected some wonderful candidates. And I know we’ll continue working towards a community that values everyone—& is marked by kindness, empathy, & justice.
For today, simply sending love. Be kind to one another.
Great time to shout out @A2GOV staff, especially the amazing @JackieBeaudry1, for their hard work in ensuring a great experience for #annarbor voters today. Thank you! 🗳️
An important reminder from Rep. @DebDingell: Vote for Supreme Court (Kyra & Kim) and local judges (Jinan & Kerene), and on #AnnArbor City Proposals, keep it simple: Vote YES-YES-NO-NO!
#A2Council
Hooray for two important Ward 5 infrastructure projects being completed this week - road replacement in the Crescents and Sister Lakes! Huge appreciation for City staff making sure these were a success, for clear and ongoing communication with residents, and updates to council.
@robutterback For having done so much to support housing affordability in the city, seems strange that GEO would support Props C & D https://t.co/fWz7FXAWZh
Not every supporter of A2 Props C & D is a Republican, but nearly every Republican will support C & D.
There is a reason Republicans have funneled tens of thousands of dollars into these proposals: C & D are Republicans’ only path to win on #A2Council.
Don’t be fooled. VOTE NO!
Hey #GoBlue#a2council#mgoblue@michigandaily says vote no on props c&d… do not be fooled by the misleading language on your ballot!

Tx @michigan_public! Don't be fooled by Prop C. It eliminates primaries and will turn over the Democratic Party endorsement to 200+ party regulars from outside A2. @CollegeDemsatUM, @LWVWASHTENAW, @DebDingell, and other student leaders say VOTE NO!

Proponents of proposals C and D have glued (not just stapled or taped) fliers to posts all over downtown Ann Arbor. Naturally, they’re being ripped down because that’s what happens when you put fliers on public property, but because they were glued they leave behind a mess that will be left for city employees to clean up. These people don’t care about our city. If they did they wouldn’t deface public property. They just want to change the rules to put themselves in power.
Vote no, Ann Arbor. Vote no.
Throwing down facts based on the talk I'm hearing around how #AnnArbor proposals C&D will bring about much-needed reform to keep "dark, out of town money" out of elections. Here is my campaign finance disclosure form from my '22 city council election: https://t.co/V0rl8qvvSR 🧵
The notion that big, outside money is controlling elections in Ann Arbor is absurd when you look at the facts. I can assure you my besties, college friends, & former coworkers gave to my campaign because they care a whole lot about me... not to plot to control city government.
