On 5 June 1984, the Indian Army continued their relentless firing at the Sri Darbar Sahib complex and over 10,000 Sikhs trapped inside. At 6.30am, their bullets hit and killed Amrik Singh, the 65 year old blind Head Ragi. Another Ragi, Avtar Singh, took a fatal bullet soon after.

3 June 1984 was observed as the Shaheedi Dihara (Martyrdom Day) of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru. Tens of thousands of Sikh pilgrims from across Punjab, India, and the world had gathered at Sri Darbar Sahib to pay obeisance and bathe in the holy Sarovar.

VANCOUVER — Khalistan Referendum activists staged “Dinesh Patnaik’s Donkey Ride of Shame” following a legal memorandum submitted by Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) to Prime Minister Mark Carney demanding the expulsion of Indian High Commissioner Dinesh K. Patnaik and the termination of taxpayer-funded security protection for Indian diplomats and diplomatic facilities in Canada.

The Canadian Sovereignty Rally was organized in response to Indian High Commissioner Patnaik’s public remarks attacking the credibility of RCMP, CSIS, and Canadian journalism while continuing to benefit from Canadian taxpayer-funded security protection.

The memorandum to PM Carney calls on the Government of Canada to declare Dinesh K. Patnaik persona non grata and revoke the diplomatic accreditation of Toronto Consul General Mahaveer Singhvi.

SFJ General Counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun stated:
“Only a donkey—not a diplomat—would dare to smear the very Canadian institutions responsible for protecting him.”

“Patnaik’s attacks on RCMP, CSIS, and Canadian journalism cannot erase the fact that India’s Modi Government assassinated Shaheed Nijjar and continues transnational repression targeting Khalistan Referendum activists across Canada, the United States, and Europe.”

SFJ’s legal memorandum argues that Canadian taxpayers should not be required to finance the protection of foreign diplomats who publicly discredit RCMP, CSIS, and Canadian journalism while benefiting from the protection of those same Canadian institutions.

“The Carney Government must expel Dinesh Patnaik and revoke taxpayer-funded security protection for Indian diplomats who publicly undermine Canadian sovereignty, law enforcement, national security institutions, and Canadian journalism,” added Pannun.

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO — Scores of Sikhs For Justice and Khalistan Referendum activists confronted Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Patnaik while he was leaving an event attended by India’s trade delegation led by Minister Piyush Goyal and hosted by the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce at Pearson Convention Center in Brampton.

In a security scare for Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Patnaik, Khalistan Referendum activists led by Inderjeet Singh Gosal breached the police line surrounding Patnaik’s convoy, shredded the Indian Tiranga, and raised slogans of: “Indian Terrorists Go Back!”

Inderjeet Singh Gosal, a Khalistan Referendum organizer who was offered RCMP witness protection citing threats to his life, stated: “I have shredded Tiranga in front of Dinesh Patnaik who has put a $50,000 hit on me and challenged the sovereignty of Canada.”

Patnaik is under fire from pro-Khalistan Canadians for undermining Canadian sovereignty following remarks in which he described RCMP and CSIS as “compromised�� and “corrupt.”

Activists also raised slogans stating: “WHO KILLED SHAHEED NIJJAR ?” “Indian Envoy Dinesh Patnaik — Go Back To Your Hellhole Country!”
