A super mom in every sense of the word, Dapo is just as curious and inquisitive as you if not more, and he’s blessed to have you as his mom, life couldn’t have dealt him a better card. Happy birthday (in addy 😭 )to our resident champ & what a stellar job you do, 10 years?? 🙌🏽😮‍💨

Honestly can’t believe I have a child that’s turning 10 next week. I remember some details from the day he was born, the pain before the epidural, he didn’t cry at birth but he was very awake and alert, and there was some worry because he was jaundiced. But he was perfect, hardly cried, so peaceful, ate well. Then he was diagnosed with Down syndrome and a heart condition two weeks later. It felt like the sky was falling.

Countless hospital visits in the Chicago winter, months in the hospital for his heart surgeries, cute visits from the Bears players that Christmas. The hardest, most heart wrenching part was the weeks when he wasn’t allowed to eat, but was on fluids, I don’t know how we survived it tbh. So many complications, years of physical, occupational and speech therapy, years of respiratory issues, but he’s in good health now.

A very sweet and unproblematic child, the guy is just a foodie that’s focused on his next meal 🤣. It’s been 10 years of joy, of course with some worry and trepidation, but we have many more joyful decades to come by God’s grace 🥹.
