the zone of interest is a film about the idyllic, everyday life of an Auschwitz commandant and his wife, who raise their children in a home located directly adjacent to the concentration camp.
below is an unrelated photo showing Gaza from an israeli settlement.
This yellow cube that separates me from my home. I don’t know why I call it 'my home,' for they have demolished it. They didn’t just destroy it; they razed my entire town. This yellow cube feels like the dividing line between truth and illusion, between reality and imagination, between the old man I am now and the young Omar I once was, between love and its opposite.
Two and a half years have passed while I am forbidden from returning to my land. I used to feel profound sadness for those forcibly displaced during the Nakba of '48, but it seems I have become one of them. My father spent over 40 years building our home, only for Israel to destroy it in the blink of an eye. They didn't just demolish the house; they demolished us along with it.
How can a lifeless cube encapsulate forty years of building? Forty years where every brick laid was a promise of safety, and every corner of the house was a story my father tucked away for difficult days. Now, we have become the displaced stories, seeking shelter in a memory that refuses to forget, and in words through which we try to mend what has been broken within our souls.
I already thought Elon’s mom constantly defending him on twitter was embarrassing. I didn’t even consider that Elon was the one tweeting as his own mom and defending himself, which is maybe the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen
One of the most brutal scenes in human history has been leaked.
An Israeli soldier filmed this clip using a drone camera while proudly boasting about the destruction of all homes in Gaza.
A moment the world must never forget.
The United States has the largest prison population on earth.
Not per capita.
Total.
More people in cages than China.
More than Russia.
More than every "authoritarian" state it condemns in its annual human rights reports.
1.8 million people.
Disproportionately Black.
Disproportionately poor.
Disproportionately from the zip codes with the worst schools, the fewest jobs, the most abandoned infrastructure.
This is presented as a "criminal justice system."
It functions as a labor system.
Prison labor, paid between 13 cents and $1.15 an hour in most states, produces goods for McDonald's, Walmart, Victoria's Secret, Whole Foods, and the United States military.
The 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery, contains an exception clause:
"Except as punishment for crime."
That exception has never been closed.
It has been expanded.
The plantation did not disappear.
It received a different name and a legal foundation.
My favorite James Baldwin line: "There is a reason, after all, that some people wish to colonize the moon, and others dance before it as an ancient friend."
The scandal over this photo perfectly reflects so many accusations of antisemitism.
In this case, a photo captures exactly how a settler looks, and the magazine is condemned as antisemitic because his appearance supposedly is identical to “caricatures.”
Meanwhile, when criticizing Israel, you can accurately describe exactly what it does with extensive sources and proof, and they call you hateful because the actions may align with antisemitic “tropes.”
Instead of condemning Israel for manifesting the worst antisemitic stereotypes, they say doing so is hateful.
Reality is antisemitic to them because it does not align with the Jewish supremacist worldview they have been propagating their whole lives.

Non esiste nessuna mediterranean summer, ce l’hanno tolta, l’autoctono non può permettersi più certi posti che comunque ormai sono infestati di rumenterie per spellare il turista di turno. Stare alla larga 👍
It sounds like Israel is planning to blow up Al Aqsa and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The uptick in this kind of rhetoric is nothing more than laying groundwork to blame Iran.
Israel has banned Muslim and Christian access to these holy sites. For the first time in the history of Islam and the history of Christianity, Al Aqsa is empty during Ramdan and Eid, and the Holy Sepulcher is locked to worshipers.
They're not doing this to spare non-Jewish life. Rather, they want to ensure there are no phone cameras capturing evidence. It will be another scene of their crime, and they want to have total control over the narrative and "evidence."
These parasites are diabolical.
