My Cubs wish list this week:

Cut Jameson Taillon. Sorry, man. It’s just not there anymore, and we’ve seen this movie before with Arrieta at the end.
Eat the roughly $5.7M, open the roster spot, and bring up an (“oh, yep, let’s see what this guy has in high leverage who can actually miss bats), or just trade for Tarik.

The money is already gone and the prospect capital is there. Stop paying for past results with present losses.

Won some random march madness twitter contest Stacey created on a whim in twitter. I was so determined to win, I had google ready on my ipad to help me answer AS SOON as he posted it, sure enough i won it. In the DM he complimented me on my "google machine skills" with the same humor he'd use on air.

He checked my group DURING THE GAME WHILE HE WAS BROADCASTING to make sure we were enjoying his seats and made sure we had plenty of time after the game ended to hang out on court

Then 1-10.
Still 30-26.

That’s what the 20-3 heater bought them: the ability to completely faceplant into Memorial Day week and somehow not be dead.

Current NL Central:
Brewers 33-20, +78
Cubs 30-26, 4.5 GB

The ugly bs? During the 10-game skid, CHC outscored 65-25 and hit .185/.288/.293.

The not-insane optimistic part? That is so cartoonishly bad it almost has to normalize unless the entire roster got Space Jam’d.

Get to June. Fix HR issue SHOTA AND JAMEO. Stop punting winnable games. There’s still a real team under the rubble. #Cubs
