🌍🇪🇹Yesterday, we officially kicked off the Peace Convocation for Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), youth, and women in the Horn of Africa under the Horn of Africa Peace Program. The two days meeting aims to strengthen collaboration among FBOs, CSOs, youth, and women to advance inclusive, community-led peacebuilding and social cohesion across the Horn of Africa, The meeting has brought together 65 participants from FBOs, CSOs, women’s leadership networks, youth leaders and movements, as well as representatives from the African Union Commission and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.

📣African faith actors for economic justice joined civil societies in Harare, Zimbabwe for the Continental Strategy Planning and Launch of the Pamoja Critical Minerals Alliance convened by the Southern Africa Resources Watch. During a panel discussion chaired by AACC’s Programme Executive for Economic Justice, it was stressed that the Church needs to support policies that benefit mine workers and steer their countries towards the Just Transition. The panelists included Reverend Suzzane Matale from the Africa Methodist Church, Zambia, Fr. Toussaint M. Kafarhire from the Arrupe Centre for Research and Training (#CARF), Admire Mutizwa, from ZCC and Rev Baxton Maulidi from Malawi.
