Imagine you are 21 years old. You have played eight first-class matches in your life. You did not even have a passport a week ago.
Then you land in England.
Your first over averages 89.7mph. Every single delivery of that over is quicker than every other ball any Pakistan bowler has sent down on this entire tour. You trap the greatest Test batter England has produced before you have conceded a single run in Test cricket. You finish with four wickets.
Then you come back with the bat, score 81 from the bottom of the order in a day, and end up as the second-highest run scorer of the side. You break the record for the most sixes by a debutant in Test history. And you play an innings that wakes up an entire ground, and an entire country, in the space of a couple of hours.
That is where you tell the world that Pakistan has never had a shortage of talent. Only a shortage of people willing to look for it.
What a story. What an absolute beauty of a Test cricket session.
@magichoursbyme Haq Meher is such a pathetic thing that Islam introduced honestly. Instead of focusing on female financial independence, it makes them kind of a sex slave in return for money and protection. What else one could imagine, wish you strength against this moron
Being deported from the country you've come to study in is every international student's worst nightmare. Pakistani is wholescale deporting Afghan students simply for being Afghan. This is the definition of racism and dehumanization. Afghan students must be allowed to study.

Being brutally honest about the state of Pakistan’s middle class: one medical emergency and you’re broke. Lose your job and you’re on the street. This was never normal, not that I’ve known in my lifetime.
A medical doctor called me today asking help for concessions on his own child’s delivery at a private clinic in Islamabad. Professionals here live in debt, spend years just trying to pay it off, get harassed by debt collectors, and some don’t survive the weight of it.
This misery goes completely unheard while the country celebrates national milestones and international wins. Progress means nothing if the people living through it are quietly breaking.
It takes a lot of money to not smell. Money for water, for better quality clothes, to pay for electricity to heat the water in which to bathe and wash clothes. Easier for the rich to judge a poor woman or man than to even understand the systemic inequalities underlying body odor.
