From an opponent to a friend over the years. Itโs been a pleasure watching you bat and compete against you over so many years but more than that I value our friendship and shared perspectives on the game and beyond. I continue to cherish every time we speak or meet. Wishing you nothing but the best always brother. Youโve done your bit, you deserve to enjoy all of it now and put your feet up. Well done mate, lifeโs only just begun. โค๏ธ #KaneWilliamson

Hearty congratulations to our very own @rpraggnachess on winning the Norway Chess 2026 title.
Winning four classical games in a row, taking down world champions, and securing the title with a spectacular final game is nothing short of phenomenal.
Tamil Nadu and the entire nation are immensely proud of his outstanding achievement.
Congratulations to Praggnanandhaa on becoming the first Indian to win the Norway Chess tournament - one of the ultimate tests of endurance, intellect and temperament in the world of chess.
To defeat the worldโs absolute best on one of chessโs grandest stages is a remarkable feat. But what makes it even more special is the spirit with which Pragg plays. Fearless - Focused - Deeply Indian.
@rpraggnachess, you represent the confidence of a rising, youthful India.
The entire nation is incredibly proud of you, Pragg. ๐ฎ๐ณโ๏ธ
Praggnanandhaa was in last place and 5.5 points behind So after losing in Round 6, but he stormed back to win the next 4 classical games and clinch the #NorwayChess title! https://t.co/zD21yVR15R
โTo beard the lion in his den.โ
The dictionary defines it as boldly confronting a powerful rival on their own turf.
For years, Norway Chess has been Magnus Carlsenโs den. His turf. His domain.
So I woke up to this news and my jaw dropped.
You didnโt just win a title, @rpraggnachess.
You walked into the lionโs den and emerged victorious
This title is important. Not because of the trophy, but because of your challenger spirit.
And thatโs something all of us can learn fromโฆ

Check out the incredible final moments of Praggnanandhaa taking down World no.1 Magnus Carlsen with the Black pieces in Round 8 of Norway Chess 2026!
With this win, Pragg becomes the first Indian (and possibly in the world) player who defeated Magnus Carlsen in Classical Chess twice in the same tournament! What a moment for Indian Chess.
Twisha Sharma case is unfortunate, no doubt. But where was the media and the celebrity anchor when a Judge, Aman Kumar Sharma, committed suicide due to his wife and IAS sister-in-law?
@meme_ki_diwani Agree. But this was a kinda 2006-2007 time of Sachin moment for him. Not in terms of numbers (Sachin never went this low in his career). But after 2007-08, see Sachin got back to his best. Especially in Tests. You should not doubt the efforts of a player like Virat.
