Came across a really informative guide for clinicians and Muslim patients by Dr. Maqbool Al Balushi re how to time medications whilst fasting in Ramadan. (ofc don’t fast if you are medically exempt). I hope this is helpful and may Allah accept it from us ✨
Considering you don’t need to inform anyone if you plan to strike, I am being asked a heck of a lot!
Stop asking, the guilt is bad enough. Presume the worst and prepare your cover.
Here are the current prices for going to A&E in Guernsey. This is what Sajid Javid is talking about.
Now, imagine you're a student on £13k/year working out if you can afford to get your chest pain checked or not for £190.
Just popping by as a way to procrastinate - unlikely to be active on here regularly until an unknown future time where life is a bit easier. Hope everyone is as well as can be 🧠🫀
just popping in here to ask to what extent student nurses have these rights, and how much our access to these rights is at “the placement’s discretion”. Any StN carers want to share their experiences?
for context, I’ve recently had a more supportive role for someone I love and have only been able to stay on my programme because of a placement’s flexibility, which was only flexible because of my amazing practice supervisor
An urgent @RCNMHForum member meeting was held on the 6th May 2021, in response to the concerns raised by @StopSIMMH.
Members echoed the calls of the #StopSIM Coalition - supporting the full content of their letter.
@theRCN has written a formal position statement on the matter.
I usually feel like I do absolutely nothing with my time and get nothing done, partly because I massively struggle to plan my time. Every few months I start making to do lists and schedules (aka for 2 days) then it falls apart, even though I feel much calmer when I have them
@CowenMichelle That’s a great point. I find assignments easier to organise myself for than the thousand little bits of different things I do though! I think I just need to translate 250 words into “just do 30 minutes and that will chip away at it”. And then the rewards 😂
@SotonMax I would absolutely love one but I have 16 things to do today and a viewing 😅 I’m off for 3 weeks starting nxt week tho? (I know, horrible lucky student)
lord also, separate subject, but to all fellow white people ever - please think before you ask Black people for input on things that they are not known for being experts in, that you will not be paying them for their time on. Being Black does not make people our unpaid educators.
@BrianWebster18@WeStudentNurse @StNurseProject As others have said, I think this is only appropriate and beneficial where the post-feedback process is explicit and negative feedback is acted on and the actions communicated to the student. Maybe if feedback was visible to other students it would motivate actual action.
This is quite interesting. If you are not heterosexual your chance of being told your personality is disordered doubles. If the clinician focuses on whether 'symptoms' cause distress the bias disappears. Almost as if this dx is a judgement of difference

I had a lovely visit to urology today and I just 🥰 love the amount of different areas I’m getting to see as a result of a covid-affected placement. Visited an intestinal failure unit the other day and it was the first time a ward really clicked with me. Silver linings!
