a lot of linguistics are a bunch of pseudoscience and most of those etymologies especially are totally made up. Why can't those borrowings just as well be the other way around, since proto-uralics were an invading, domineering culture during the bronze age? Every single word in finnish is always some sort of a foreign loanword.

@Tom_Rowsell @kihavaiconen ukko is just a more modern euphemism for jumala, (the-sky-god). Christian god is still "jumala" in finnish because the concept fits well into it, where as a thunderstorm is "ukkonen/ukon ilma") for example.

There's no sufficient proof for the first and the second crusades to have happened, finland maintained an ethnicly finnish nobility for centuries, which spoke finnish, there was no systemic linguistic marginalisation, no ethnic cleansing by swedish hands. Reason why finland became apart of sweden was, because in the late 1200's finland was in a period of internal instability between different chiefdoms, and a conflicted progressive/reactionary, christian/pagan elite, and had endured war with the rus' for centuries, for which a military alliance was beneficial for.

You are not enforcing any form of finnish identity, but sowing in a fake, constructed svecoman narrative of swedish dominion and bad finnish self-esteem.

@icewristracist2 @LambentLucien The savolaxid uralic phenotype meme has done irreparable harm. It's made up, barely any of those big lipped fatfaces even exist in finland. In reality the most similar examples just look like fenno-nordids with a more robust skull than average, not anything like this.
