John Cleese and Rowan Atkinson feel like the last two adults left in the room.
For years they’ve been saying the quiet part out loud: free speech matters, humour is not a crime, and a society that cannot laugh at itself is already sick.
And for that simple, decent stance they have been dragged through the cancellation machine.
These are not angry ideologues.
They are two men who just wanted to make people laugh and tell the truth.
Instead they have been treated like heretics smeared, isolated, and told to sit down and shut up by people who once claimed to love satire.
The British humour they helped create the kind that was razor sharp, fearless, and never cruel for the sake of it has almost disappeared.
That humour didn’t just entertain us.
It made us stronger. It taught us not to take ourselves so seriously. It gave us thicker skin.
Now that skin is being deliberately stripped away, and the only ones still trying to protect it are the ones the culture keeps trying to cancel.
Cleese and Atkinson never asked to be heroes.
They just refused to pretend.
And in an age of mass pretending, that alone makes them extraordinary.
I'm not a racist. I'm a culturalist
I believe some cultures are superior to others
For example, I prefer cultures that do not encourage wife beating, paedophilia, clitorectomies, stoning and constant inflation of the male ego
I am also aware of the difference between Islamoscepticism and Islamophobia
Notice that hate does not come into this
Only moral preferences
Please keep Jimmy in your prayers as he begins chemotherapy and continues his fight against cutaneous lymphoma. We pray his treatment gives him many more happy, comfortable days, and thank you to This Is Houston Rescue for loving him and making sure he receives the lifesaving care he deserves. 💙🐾
🇺🇸🇮🇱 Senator John Fetterman to Benjamin Netanyahu:
"Israel is a miracle. I've had the privilege of visiting a couple of times. I am proud to stand with Israel through everything."
Thank you, @SenFettermanPA 🙏
Notice the wording here, "made" .
No one is making these women cheat, they willingly do so and look for any chance to then dodge accountability of being caught afterwards
I'm not despairing at all. I just am not impressed by the theatrics of Republicans in congressional hearings trying to go viral but then not actually doing anything legislatively or otherwise to advance the agenda. But if you're still impressed by their performative bullshit, good for you. Go enjoy it.
There’s a scene at the end of The Return of the King where the hobbits are sitting at their local bar. Only they know what they accomplished.
They quietly sip their beers while the rest of the Shire goes about their business like nothing ever happened.
Because for them, nothing did happen.
That scene pretty much sums up coming home from deployment better than any war movie ever has.
