This country has so much potential. It's one of the most beautiful countries on earth. If we had HALF a competent government the economy would be booming, crime would be under control, we would have almost no poverty and a healthcare system that works. Instead, we have the ANC.
SA’s courts have routinely been urged by the gov not to overstep the bounds of their powers. While that warning previously did not deter the judiciary from overturning poor state decisions, the unpredictable Covid-19 crisis has
seen the courts pull back from such interventions.
It appears that courts do not want to face accusations that they are attempting to co-govern a country in the midst of an unprecedented health and economic disaster.
The Fita case appears to provide evidence of that reluctance.
A tender is an ethical contract. It is not a blank cheque to deceive and steal. And stealing from unwell people! During a COVID-19 pandemic! Please people. What kind of people are these criminals?!
I cannot fathom how some still believe despite all the evidence to the contrary that the ANC will one day simply stop the stealing, hold the corrupt to account, and start treating citizens with respect. Each time Ramaphosa opens his mouth we are struck with collective amnesia.
Interesting optics in Cape Town streets today. SAPS gone out in their numbers, trucks, vans in abundance. Restaurant staff are protesting peacefully in the CBD, don't you think it's better to deploy your troops to Khayelitsha, Joe Slovo and other crime ridden areas Bheki Cele?
The SAPS has informed restaurant owners that their protest planned for tomorrow is illegal, & they will be fined, arrested, and charged if they proceed. They must quietly sit and accept their starvation and loss of their livelihoods. The SAPS is an organ of oppression & tyranny.
All political parties expressed concern about corruption at a municipal level during the debate on the Department of Cogta's adjusted budget. DA's Hoosen said instead of fighting corruption, Minister Dlamini-Zuma was fighting "zol & alcohol" | @gerbjan

@Unathi_Kwaza@MYANC THIS is the consequence of playing the blame game, sadly it is not even Cyril who suffers... others suffer for his lack of dignity and balls... which white people and apartheid also probably took from him 🤷♂️
@CyrilRamaphosa you are a sad sad man Cyril... probably blamimg apartheid for you lack of dignity and balls as well right ???
Just letting you know, white people can't give either of these to you, for obvious reasons...

The growing number of incidents in rural and farming communities should be a concern for all South Africans. Not only are we witnessing brutal attacks against our fellow citizens but if these trends continue our food security is also being placed at risk.
The President was even recorded in 2018 denying that farm safety was an issue.
While some choose to divide the country on the issue of farm and rural safety, the DA is focused on solutions aimed at curbing this sickening trend.
The rising violence and criminality within our country and our province’s farming and rural communities must be a priority for government. Yet, true to the uncaring manner that we have become accustomed to, government has not shifted resources towards addressing this scourge.
