😂 This post reminds me of a lady I dated before I married my wife.
She constantly talked about her mom, saying things like, “My mom is the head of the family,” “My mom this,” “My mom that.” I kept wondering, what about your father? Is he still alive? She said yes. She said they were also alive.
I was honestly disappointed with her upbringing, because she wasn’t supposed to see or present things that way, no matter the level of financial stability her mother had while growing up.
There were days when my father didn’t have money to pay our school fees. My mom would quietly give him the money and allow him to present it as his own. Anytime we complained to her that our school fees hadn’t been paid, she would say, “Go and meet your father. He already told me he has the money to give you.”
It wasn’t until I was about 25 years old that my father told us the truth, how helpful, supportive, and sincere my mother had always been to him.
You see, marriage is not for the weak. As a man and a woman, if you are not both willing to sacrifice and protect each other’s interests, such a union can never truly exist.
