Many thanks to the talented journalists who have made C&EN a pleasure to read. They will (if they haven't already) bring their skills elsewhere, much to the detriment of ACS and C&EN.
"C&EN has always punched above its weight and delivered a product that has become to many the most important benefit of membership in the American Chemical Society."
Excellent letter from @sciencegeist (and more), but extremely disappointing action by @AmerChemSociety.
I would step further and say C&EN is the π°π―ππΊ tangible benefit offered by ACS. Surprising as it may be to the top execs we don't pay dues to fund $1M+ salaries and cheap mugs. Why should we continue as a community to support ACS if they aren't interested in supporting us?
Unbelievably excited to share this work with the world πAs Dexter would say, today is a great day for β¨Scienceβ¨ Read about how we upcycled post-consumer plastic waste into ionomers (and basically anything imaginable) here: https://t.co/apbET2FHTW @AlexanianLab@LeibfarthGroup
