The MLA’s statement is wrong. And frankly, not surprising.
First, it exposes their priorities. At a time when real issues of the state demand attention, raising something like this in the Assembly is itself telling.
And if the Speaker chooses to act on it, it diminishes the dignity of the Vidhan Soudha itself.
Now, let’s ask the basic question.
Why should the KSCA, or any sports body, give free tickets to MLAs?
Why should they owe” them anything?
This is plain entitlement. Feudal thinking.
An MLA demanding free tickets, a separate gallery, and refusing to sit with the public reveals their belief that they are somehow above the very people they represent.
That is the problem.
If citizens have to buy tickets, so should MLAs. Simple.
Unless we call this out clearly, we will keep normalising a culture of entitlement. And that is the opposite of what a modern, equal, democratic society should stand for.
This is wrong. It must be opposed.
Had the Karnataka MLAs spent time in the Vidhana Soudha discussing safety and security preparedness for IPL fans, it would have upheld the dignity of the House.
Instead, we saw MLAs pleading and even threatening for free tickets for themselves and their families.
This is not just poor priority. It exposes a deeper problem - a VIP mindset that sees public office as entitlement.
Why should any sports body owe MLAs anything? Why should elected representatives expect privileges denied to ordinary citizens?
Public office is not a privilege. It is a responsibility.
This culture must end.

As the world is reeling under fuel shortages amid the West Asia crisis, driving up prices globally, the Modi government's decision to cut excise duty on fuel brings much-needed relief to citizens.
While many nations have hiked diesel and petrol prices, Modi govt’s decision to reduce excise duty underscores its people-centric governance and sensitivity-led decision-making. Kudos to PM Shri @narendramodi Ji for this decision.
This picture says more than a thousand words.
It captures, in one frame, what our political culture has been reduced to.
A national icon like Venkatesh Prasad, a man who brought pride to India, whose spells against Pakistan are etched permanently in our collective memory, is today standing with folded hands before a Chief Minister.
Why?
Not for any wrongdoing. Not for any failure of duty.
But simply because he did his job.
Because he did not anticipate that the brittle egos of politicians would be bruised. Because he did not bend to a culture that expects free tickets, special treatment, and unquestioned entitlement.
This is the tragedy.
When those who have served the nation with excellence are made to stand in deference, and those in public office demand privilege over accountability, something has gone fundamentally wrong.
This is not just about one incident.
This is about a deeper decay.
A political class that sees power as entitlement, not responsibility should go. A system where excellence bows, and arrogance sits should go.
A new generation of political class is badly needed at all levels.
If this does not disturb us, nothing will.
India deserves better.
For whatever it is worth, I stand with @venkateshprasad. And I know, millions will.
It will be very unfortunate if @kscaofficial1@venkateshprasad ,
Adhere to ridiculous demands of @INCKarnataka MLA’s . Look at their audacity of demanding a separate stand to watch cricket .
Reminds me of the colonial untouchability practice against public.

🇦🇺 Australia’s PM Anthony Albanese had to leave a mosque visit in Sydney early after things turned hostile.
People inside started shouting at him, swearing, and confronting him directly.
In the end, he was escorted out through a rear exit.

Has anyone faced abuse in cancellation of their service .??
I need my post paid service of my Wi-Fi .
Extreme abuse with support staff at the call Center . Making you wait for hours on hold . Not done , cancelling all services with you
This must be given to a SIT. The hurried nature of the case with multiple version does not indicate to one person committing this gruesome crime. Much more to this. @MahuaMoitra@MamataOfficial . Whom are you protecting??
