Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.
Since then, the lives of the people of J&K and Ladakh have witnessed wide-ranging transformation. Infrastructure has expanded, opportunities in areas such as education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports have grown. Be it the women or the marginalised communities, those who were denied their basic constitutional rights for decades have been empowered thanks to the full application of the Constitution of India.
5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.
We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

After a very long time, I found a BJP spokesperson talking sense and correctly summarising the issue. He doesn't sound capitulating or arrogant, just plain logical. This is the rightful approach on the subject. Therefore, dear BJP, take a course correction, reassert yourself, and fill the space lost in recent times. Social media narrative is not like an earthquake that takes years to rebuild houses and infrastructure; with the right approach and an effective IT team, you will be number one once again. The anger of supporters like me against the government is driven by a desire for reform, not one RW vote has shifted to the opposition. We still have faith in the present dispensation.
Running away is easy. Staying back, taking responsibility, and fixing the system, that’s what actual governance looks like. That’s what real leaders do when they truly care about their people. They don’t run. they fix. We stand with a Prime Minister who alwys puts the nation first
LoP Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia continue to shamelessly exploit students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia chose to stage a dharna outside the Hon'ble Prime Minister's residence , causing inconvenience to the public and disregarding established security protocols.
Even after Government conveyed its readiness for a comprehensive discussion, the Congress chose political spectacle over democratic debate. Their objective was never solutions for students, it was disruption for political headlines
For Rahul Gandhi, this is not about students. This is about manufacturing confrontation after every genuine avenue for discussion has been opened.
Our Government remains 100% committed to discussing NEET and addressing every genuine concern of our youth on the floor of the House. The students of India deserve far better than being treated as props in a political campaign. They deserve certainty over chaos, solutions over slogans and responsibility over disruption.
We owe our students more than outrage. We owe them answers, reforms and accountability. That is exactly what our government remains committed to delivering.
I frankly dont care for this nautanki. Please sit peacefully at Jantar Mantar and keep protesting but if u take to streets in a bid overrun parliament then be ready to face the music at the hand of security forces.
For one month you protested peacefully, Govt gave u space at Jantar Mantar. In meanwhile RE-NEET was done and results were declared. You could have continued protesting but no you wanted to create Nepal and remove Modi then face the music.
But then CJP tried to make it political by making Arundhati Roy, Yogendra Yadav, AAP & leftist unions like AISA to take over for march to parliament. If you want to get into political activism and become tools for leftists communists then should be ready for consequences.
Accountability in democracy is fixed by Courts or through elections. You cant aim to achieved the goal of overthrowing elected government of India by a violent insurrection in name of student causes.
No sympathies for anyone as we the people have seen playbook of activism many times in past few years. Please stop blocking roads & highways they are made for law abiding citizens who want to work and earn for themselves. We dont want our livelihoods to be disrupted for your misplaced political activism.
