IPCC 2007-2014 CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS AT 2*C CATASTROPHE
My AGU impact chart from IPCC AR4 & AR5 (2014) projections.
Clear Conclusion from combined impacts 2°C is catastrophic.
1.5°C is globally disastrous

The latest global temperature data from Copernicus has the planet at a record daily high on May 13th, likely the hottest May 13th in the last 120,000+ years. And El Nino is just getting started.
We live in interesting times.
Breaking News!
Code UFB!!!
April data for "Total Column Precipitable Water" just came in, and once again a new record was set for the 36-month running average over the Northern Hemisphere, Mid-Latitudes, where over 50% of all humans live.
Can you spot the trend?
This trend is starting to break the link between gas and electricity prices, with gas setting the price of power roughly 25% less often in March/April 2026 than in 2022

The new Copernicus state-of-climate report came out this week!
It shows that Europe is the continent warming strongest. And it also shows the northern Atlantic 'cold blob', which is already affecting our weather. See e.g. this seminal study: https://t.co/dqriOtHZEw
On my show last night, in the hours after the assaults in Golders Green, I talked to the transport secretary about the under-reported rise of antisemitism among young people.
Heidi Alexander made a point of saying that education and the classroom is where much of the struggle against antisemitism must be focussed - because hatred of and contempt for Jews is prevalent in too many communities, social classes, ethnicities and faiths.
The trigger, the proximate cause, is fury at Israel’s destruction of Gaza - for which Jews in general are often and wrongly held accountable.
This notion that Jews should be blamed for the actions of Israel’s government is totally irrational and hateful. It is antisemitism, pure, simple and cancerous.
But like the virus it is, antisemitism is manifesting through tropes that are new and centuries old.
That’s why there is an imperative to engage with young people in schools, to help them understand why hatred of Jews is so destructive.
The government has recently launched a review of antisemitism in schools, chaired by Sir David Bell. If you are in doubt that such an investigation is badly needed, read below what one teacher told me this morning (this is just one teacher and one school, but it is profoundly shocking and I doubt it’s anomalous).
I teach at a London secondary school. The otherwise kindhearted children, empathetic and intelligent, bandy casual antisemitism about the classroom constantly.
During a history lesson covering Hitler's Holocaust, a student deemed it "interesting" that "no country has ever wanted the Jews." With this in mind, the child was confused as to why, then, "we don't blame the Jews." He reckoned: “They must be doing something wrong.”
I regularly remind students that Jews did not, and do not, "steal all the money!" I had to explain that Weimar Jews did not cause hyperinflation. Even 'old school' antisemitism is back, thanks to TikTok revisionism.
And with great frequency, students remark that "Jews control the world" or that "Israel controls America."
I was, above all else, distressed to catch students emailing each other pictures of Orthodox Jews "as a joke" because "they look funny." This, more than anything else, frightens me. For, in mockery of something as basic as appearance, a line is crossed; misinformation is dwarfed by the purest, most ancient form of contempt: one that lessons on economics or history will struggle to defeat.

Sooner than expected?
"The study projects an abrupt shift within the next 30-40 years from irregular El Niño-La Niña cycles to highly regular oscillations, characterized by amplified sea surface temperature fluctuations..."

I'm afraid we wont have to wait until mid-century to see "World food systems ‘pushed to the brink’ by extreme heat".
The next 1.5 years will likely already show extreme pressures on global food production.
Especially if the Strait of Hormuz stays closed and we get Super El Niño
